Overview

Pool Beach Nearby Ideal for Kids Pets Welcome Hot Tub Walk to Village

Built in 2015, Villa Lipica combines the best of rustic Croatian styles with contemporary comforts, including a sauna and Jacuzzi! In the living room, there is a charming blend of traditional patterns and techniques with more modern equipment.

A quaint L-shaped sofa sits alongside a traditional rug and under beautiful wooden beams which stretch across the ceiling. While on a fabulous old chest of draws sits a modern satellite TV! Here is a fireplace to one side for keeping toasty and warm at all times!

There is a dining kitchen next to this room, with a similarly old and new design, with a rustic ambience complimented by a full array of the latest mod cons. Finally, on the ground floor, there is a sauna where you can sweat out your worries and cares (and hangover?) and refresh ready for a new day!

On the first floor, you will find all four beautiful bedrooms. There is a master bedroom complete with a double bed, a vast wardrobe, a wall-mounted satellite TV and a fabulous ensuite bathroom with a shower. There are a further three bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, and an additional bathroom with a shower. All four bedrooms are utterly unique and charming, and all have to air-condition.

In the majestic garden, you can relax to your heart’s content among the charming veranda, with a vast casual seating area for unwinding in the warm shade. There’s a little something for everyone, with a barbeque and outdoor dining area for indulgent alfresco meals, a trampoline and a playhouse for the kids, and plenty of space for getting the whole group involved in fun and games!

The delightful pool sits on the other side of the garden, surrounded by a lovely lawn with sun-loungers and a hedge for added privacy. A whirlpool bath for 6 is the ideal spot for kicking back by sunset with a glass of the local wine, or perhaps even a cocktail or two!

Three bikes are provided for your use, and 10km away is a bike rental service – with several marked cycle trails nearby, you can get off the beaten track and explore the sublime scenery on your doorstep!

Just 40 minutes away from Učka Nature Park, a sprawling protected area with hiking routes leading to canyons, waterfalls and historic sites, you’ll find an unspoilt nature a stone’s throw away.

One-Third of the Istrian territory is forested, and the rest is carpeted with vineyards, olive trees, pastures and orchards, with ancient walled cities perched atop hills in the mountainous landscape, so you need merely stroll out of your front door to find the richness of Istria.

Just 10 minutes away is the delightful town of Vodnjan, well worth a visit to learn a little of its history, with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque influences, although more recently it has become more known for its many options for olive oil tasting!

The largest city in the region is Pula, brimming with history and magnificent architecture. In early September the city comes alive with music and cultural events, many hosted in its ancient Roman Amphitheatre!

A very short drive from Pula, on the very southern tip of Istria, is the Kamenjak National Park where you can follow the ‘Dinosaur Path’ to discover dinosaur footprints and admire stunning views over the bay.

A charming heart-shaped peninsula in the north-west of Croatia, Istria is warm, welcoming and perfectly-sized – you can drive the length in around an hour, putting everything within easy reach!

From breath-taking scenery, rich history and a world-famous culinary scene – you will find it all in Istria! As a former part of the Venetian Republic, this region has seen many rulers from the Romans, Byzantines and Austro-Hungarians to the Italians and Yugoslavians. Now, a myriad of enchanting towns and villages, rich in history and culture, are nestled among the undulating countryside.

Active holiday-makers will be delighted with the offerings: from windsurfing in Medulin to scuba diving in the Brijuni National park and rock climbing, hang-gliding and walking in Buzet along the 15km ‘seven waterfalls’ walk, Istria has it all.

Both along the dramatic coastal paths and in the mountains inland, you will find an abundance of natural paths for cycling (including the scenic Parenzana route over an old railway line from Viznada to the Slovenian border) and rugged off-road hiking trails. Pick up a trail-map from any of the Tourist Offices, for loads of well-marked routes around the coast and in the Cape Kamenjak.

Much like its neighbouring Italy, Istria is a gastronome’s paradise, home to world-class cuisine and endless rows of vineyards. Be sure to try the local wines, which are often sweet and fruity, using a wide variety of grapes including white Malvasia, red Terrano and Moscato.

Istria is especially famous for its truffles, which you will find served with any dish and sauce! Truffle flavoured olive oil is a typical product of the region, and indeed, you will hardly see a village which does not have its own Olive oil ‘supermarket’!

Both Rijeka and Pula have international airports within a short drive of the villa, while Pula is the central hub for those getting ferries, although there is a daily ferry between Poreč and Venice.

Region

This heart-shaped peninsula was the birthplace of modern Croatian tourism, and it’s easy to see why. Its history has bestowed it with Italian sophistication, most obviously seen in pastel-painted coastal towns, like romantic Rovinj. But, tear yourself away from the Istrian coast, through the vineyards, olive groves, and dense forests, and you will discover brilliantly preserved medieval towns and villages, where cobbled streets reveal quaint galleries, sweet squares and sea-views.

Villa Lipica is the ideal home for your family holiday. With a fabulous array of onsite facilities and so much to explore nearby you can guarantee making memories to treasure as well as a little peace and quiet while the kids get stuck in!

In the heart-shaped bubble of Istria, you will find many activities specifically designed for families, including the two sensational water parks of Aquapark Istralandia near Novigrad and Aquapark Aquacolors in Poreč.

There is also the Dino Park just outside the town of Funtana where the kids can enjoy seeing life-size dinosaurs in the wilderness, an amusement park and even a dino shooting range!

On the theme of Dinosaurs, just a short drive from Pula, on the very southern tip of Istria, is the Kamenjak National Park where you can follow the ‘Dinosaur Path’ to discover dinosaur footprints and admire stunning views over the bay.

All along the coastline you will find opportunities to rent boats, pedalos and snorkelling equipment (or even scuba diving if you’re feeling up to it!) to enjoy the pristine beaches and bays, while inland among the deep green, rolling mountains there are some of the most beautiful cycling and hiking trails in Europe.
