Located just outside Pula on the Verudela peninsula stands Veronica Lighthouse, a beautifully decorated square stone property that accommodates up to six guests across 3 bedrooms. Set in the most stunning surroundings with incredible sea views, the lighthouse features many gorgeous original features such as beamed ceilings and stone walls, perfectly coupled with a classic modern decor.

The living area features white walls and light wooden floors that give the space a fresh clean look; furnishings are kept light and neutral in shades of cream, and the furniture is modern in style and crafted in chunky wood. There is a flat screen TV and a selection of books for your entertainment in this room, beautiful art work on the walls, and windows that perfectly showcase the magnificent glittering sea views. The open plan design of the ground floor flows seamlessly from the living space to the dining area that seats 6 guests, and into the well-equipped kitchen. The area features the same contemporary colour scheme and features all modern amenities, including electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and coffee machine.

Veronica Lighthouse’s 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are located across the main building as well as a separate smaller one that is right next to the lighthouse. All of the bedrooms are decorated in the same colour palette and style as the rest of the property, with ornate white iron framed beds with white linens, white wooden furniture and mirrored wardrobes. The main building houses one double bedroom and one bedroom consisting of bunk beds in a dark chocolate wood, which contrast beautifully with the light-coloured flooring, walls and furniture. The smaller building houses another double bedroom, decorated to the same standard and featuring exposed beams, an ornamental fireplace, and a flat screen TV. Both bathrooms consist of walk in showers and are beautifully tiled, light and spacious, with storage areas in both for towels and toiletries.

Veronica Lighthouse is set in stunning surroundings with breathtaking sea views to enjoy. There are sun loungers provided for guests, as well as an outdoor dining area that seats 6, and bbq facilities. The lighthouse is sheltered at the front by a low stone wall, that allows privacy without hindering the views, and lawns behind, with trees providing some shade.

Region

Pula, located on the southern tip of Croatia's Istrian Peninsula, is a city with a rich history, stunning natural beauty, and a vibrant cultural scene. Exploring the city's old town, you'll find charming narrow streets, historic buildings, and picturesque squares. A stroll through the heart of the city allows visitors to immerse themselves in its unique blend of architectural styles, from Baroque palaces to Venetian facades.

Pula is a city steeped in history, with its roots dating back to Roman times. The most iconic symbol of the city is the Pula Arena, a remarkably well-preserved Roman amphitheater. Built during the 1st century AD, it is one of the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the world and one of Croatia’s most famous sights. Visitors can explore the galleries, stand on the arena floor, and even attend various events, including concerts and festivals held within its ancient walls.

The Istrian Peninsula is known for its stunning coastline, and Pula boasts numerous pristine beaches and coves. One of the most popular spots is Kamenjak, a protected natural park featuring rugged cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and diverse marine life. Nature enthusiasts can hike or cycle through the park's trails and enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Adriatic Sea. The coastal location is also ideal for water-based activities. Scuba diving enthusiasts can explore underwater caves and shipwrecks, while sailing and windsurfing are popular options for those seeking an adrenaline rush.

Just a short drive from Pula, the seaside town of Medulin offers a lovely promenade along the coast. You can take a leisurely walk, rent bicycles, or enjoy an ice cream by the sea. The shallow waters here make it a great spot for kids to play and swim.

For more family-friendly beaches, Verudela, Valkane, and Ambrela are all excellent options, offering playground facilities and water sports for older kids. Verudula beach is the home of Pula Aquarium which features a variety of Adriatic Sea creatures, including fish, seahorses, and various sea plants. The aquarium also has a touch tank, where children can get hands-on with the marine life!

Just a short boat ride from Pula is a collection of islands that make up Brijuni National Park. The park offers a unique combination of untouched nature, diverse flora and fauna, and historical sites. Visitors can explore the enchanting landscapes, visit the safari park, and explore the ruins of Roman villas and ancient churches. The park has golf carts available for touring, making it easily accessible for families with young children.

No visit to Pula is complete without indulging in the flavours of Istrian cuisine. The region is renowned for its truffles, olive oil, and world-class wines. Local restaurants offer a wide array of dishes that incorporate these prized ingredients. Be sure to try traditional Istrian dishes such as fuži (pasta) with truffles, maneštra (a hearty bean soup), and fresh seafood prepared in various ways.

Istria is also famous for its winemaking, and Pula is an excellent starting point for exploring local vineyards. Istrian wines, particularly Malvazija and Teran, are known for their unique character and are often paired with Istrian delicacies, creating a delightful culinary experience.

Whether you're exploring the ancient Roman heritage, relaxing on pristine beaches, or indulging in Istrian cuisine, Pula offers a unique and unforgettable Croatian adventure.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Veronica Lighthouse is ideal family accommodation thanks to its open plan layout and beautiful surroundings. There are bunk beds in one of the bedrooms, which would be ideal for children, and there is also a cot and highchair available on request. The grounds of the lighthouse are a little uneven underfoot in places, and is right on the seafront, so some care needs to be taken with little ones - however being just 10m from the beach is a huge plus when holidaying with children. The location of the property within the Park Plaza Verudela complex is a huge benefit to families as it means there are many handy amenities very nearby including swimming pools, tennis courts, and markets.

Heading out of the complex there is lots to entertain the kids besides the beach and the architectural sights of the town of Pula. Children will love visiting Dinopark Funtana, partly situated in an old stone quarry and featuring life-size moving dinosaurs, circus shows, and the Dino cinema. There is also a mini amusement park for the little ones, as well as a playground, and even a shooting range. Kids will have the opportunity to ride ponies - or dinosaurs! - and with attractions such as a fossil safari and prehistoric sea creature exhibit, there’s something to entertain the whole family.

For children aged 10 and over the Underwater Park at Verudela is really not to be missed. Spanning over 200 square meters under water this quirky park has to be seen to be believed. Visitors are provided with a helmet which allows you to stay submerged and breathe comfortably as you descend to depths of 4m. Here a guide will lead you through the underwater promenade where you can get up close and personal with sea urchins and other creatures, see a shipwreck, feed fish, and even try riding a bike at the bottom of the sea. Everything will be captured on camera by your guide, so you’ll be able to relive the experience once you are back on dry land.

  • Amazing Views!

    on 21/05/2022

Amazing 5 star view, even dolphins jumping in front of the lighthouse. Very nice contact with the owner. The only downside of the property is the side building with the extra bed. The ground smell and the high humidity in that building made us not use the side building. City of pula nearby and some good restaurants in the neighborhood.

  • Beautiful

    on 06/04/2022

We had a wonderful and very relaxing time at the property. The location is fantastically beautiful and we were even lucky enough to be able to watch dolphins directly from the terrace. The accommodation is well equipped and we didn't miss anything. The reception by landlord Mislav was very friendly and check-in and check-out were completely stress-free and uncomplicated. We and our 3 children didn't want for anything and we can't wait to spend another holiday in the accommodation. We would have preferred not to have left at all!
