Villa Orvnik sits quietly amongst the ancient olive trees, impressive palms, thick laurel shrubs and citrus trees of Dubrovnik. This is a great spot for those who want to enjoy the culture and charm of Dubrovnik, as well as the tranquillity available outside of the city walls; balancing the busy city streets with the peace and quiet of your own villa.
Recently renovated, Villa Orvnik blends character and charm with new modern features. You can enjoy exposed beams and traditional features one moment, then modern bathrooms and contemporary fittings the next. When you arrive, the place feels warm and welcoming, designed for larger groups or families that want to make themselves at home; cooking, relaxing and enjoying time together away from day to day disturbances.
Set over three floors, there is a true Mediterranean feel to the villa, with light colours and tasteful furnishings. On the ground floor, you can make your way through each room, enjoying arched doorways and exposed stonework which is well complemented by the modern renovations. Offering a bright dining room, cosy living room with a fireplace and a modern kitchen there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out, with windows offering constant glances out to the terrace and pool and allowing sunlight to brighten up the living spaces.
The five beautiful bedrooms have been designed to be fully climate controlled, with air-conditioning and central heating systems that you can set to your own comfort. On the first floor, there are two master bedrooms, both with king-size beds and modern en-suites. The remaining three bedrooms are located on the top floor, including a single room and two queen-size rooms, one of which offers a small but charming terrace.
The whole villa is surrounded by an extensive and luscious garden with terraces spread over different levels so you can move about through the day or spread out as a group, each enjoying moments of privacy. Breakfast is best enjoyed on the front terrace in the morning sun, whilst the large terrace at the back of the villa lends itself to celebrations and evening meals! The private pool sits partially shaded by soaring palm trees, perfect for cooling off in the summer sun. With picturesque countryside, quiet beaches and the historic city of Dubrovnik, Villa Orvnik has something for everyone; the perfect balance for a holiday in the Croatian sun.

Dubrovnik sits perched on the edge of the sea, protected by its ancient stone walls. Best explored on foot, you can amble around the picturesque streets, with each turn you take offering a new charm. As you walk through the town’s gates, the impressive Onofrio Fountain is one of the first things that you will see. Built in 1438, this ancient fountain is adorned with stone masks, bringing a mystery and delicate beauty to the form, the perfect entrance to this magical city. Dubrovnik is overflowing with captivating museums, animated bars, authentic restaurants and independent shops, all tucked into the old pathways, so you may want a few days to explore, finding different things and places each time!
For a quieter day trip, you can hire your own boat or hop on a ferry to explore some of the nearby islands. Opposite Dubrovnik, the island of Lokrum is a good choice, and it can be reached by daily ferry rides. With no human inhabitants, the island offers a welcome change to the bustle of the city, the perfect escape to really get away from everything!

Villa Orvnik is located just a short distance from the walled city of Dubrovnik, where kids will love to explore the ancient stories and histories from Dubrovnik’s past. The streets of Dubrovnik can get fairly hectic, with crowds ambling off of cruise ships, making the cities narrow and winding streets hard to navigate. The best option for families is heading in at quieter times of the day and finding small respites from the crowds in local restaurants, shops and sits. You should definitely take them to visit the city aquarium, displaying a huge array of marine life, all native to the Adriatic!
One of the most popular activities for families is visiting Mount Srd. You have the option to hike up to the top or take a cable car to see the views. The cable car offers an easier option, and with floor-to-ceiling windows, even little kids can enjoy the views without being picked up, and if they haven’t experienced a cable car before, that tends to be exciting enough!
For any children old enough to have watched Game of Thrones, a self-guided tour around Dubrovnik’s various filming locations is perfect, maybe even playing out some of the scenes as a family. Using the stories from the TV show can make the 90-minute walk around the cities walls more enthralling for kids, but make sure you treat them to an ice cream by the end – it can get quite tiring!
The villa itself is great for families, set away from the hustle and bustle of the town, with a quiet beach practically next door. With a welcoming, homely atmosphere, kids will settle in in no time, quickly choosing bedrooms and rushing around the gardens and terrace to find their favourite spot! They will find Wi-fi throughout the property, keeping them up to date with the world back home. The private pool is sure to be a hit, and you can watch from the comfort of a sun lounger, soaking in the calming nature of this beautiful property. Villa Orvnik also offers a speed boat upon request, that you can use during the day – this tends to be extremely popular with kids!

We had an amazing stay in Villa Orvnik. I'd definitely go back.
A great location by the beach. The nearest supermarket is a ten minute walk away along the sea front. Uber is incredibly efficient and cheap so you pop into the old town in Dubrovnik whenever you want (although the journey can take 20+ minutes if the traffic is bad). There's a lovely beach bar (Ponat) a one minute walk away and some fancier hotel beach clubs/bars/restaurants (Coral/Copacabana) another five or ten minutes walk after that.

Great villa on the beach
The location is literally on the beach. The outside space is enormous and really well maintained. We did not use some of the sitting areas as we were spoilt for choice and even at full capacity (there were only 4 of us) it would be a big villa.
The bedrooms on the first floor are en/suite and lovely. The bedrooms on the second floor were also good with a shared bathroom.
There is parking for one car directly outside.
It’s the sort of villa you walk past and think “who stays there?” -
