A grand villa on the hillside with an exquisite garden, Villa Zlatica is a masterpiece of modern design, entirely at one with nature and with a luxurious design.

The interiors are as modern and bright as the enchanting garden, with a massive set of French doors along the living room wall creating an open and inviting connection with the garden. There is a large L-shaped sofa in front of the TV.

The large modern kitchen has tons of space for the whole group to get involved with food preparations – with all the latest mod cons and a pleasing contemporary design. There is a large table for meal times, as well as a second dining table on the terrace. The kitchen leads directly onto the terrace!

There are three great bedrooms: the master suite features a king-size bed and underfloor heating, while there is one more king-size room and a final twin room. On the ground floor, there is the twin room, while the other two are on the first floor.

Original wooden beams in the ceiling and wood-effect flooring creates a typical Croatian ambience, with vibrant sea and sky colours permeating each room and complementing the sea-scape images on the walls. The accompanying bathrooms are designed in a wonderfully contemporary style and are equipped with everything you could wish for.

Out in the garden, there is a most magnificently atmospheric setup – with a parasol style covering over the enchanting alfresco dining area, right beside the majestic private pool! Trees and plants all around the garden bring the sense of the surrounding natural world within your private grounds.

At the far end of the pool are several sun-loungers, ensuring guests can soak up the sunshine in the comfort of their own private space. There’s an excellent chill-out zone next to this, the ideal place for spending a few hours relaxing, chatting and enjoying a drink or two.

Just 1km away from the dazzling beach in Pisak, you’ll find fun and adventure just a stone’s throw away. The local area is abounding with unspoilt nature, beautiful forests and impressive coastlines, of both the mainland and some of the 3000+ islands of the archipelago!

The village of Pisak is a calm haven along this picturesque coastline, while you’re only 30 minutes from the magical town of Makarska and under an hour from Split, with its famous Diocletian's Palace, the fortress-like complex at its centre, built in the 4th century!

Region

The Dalmatian coast is a veritable treasure trove of stunning landscapes and historic towns, and Omis, situated halfway between the famous port city of Split and the energetic town of Maksarka, is no exception. With its rich history, scenic backdrop, and a plethora of attractions, Omis stands out as a unique and captivating destination for those seeking to explore the charm of Croatia. The town's history is deeply intertwined with its dramatic geographical setting, which is dominated by the imposing Cetina River Canyon and the Mosor Mountain Range.

The old town of Omis, with its narrow cobblestone streets and stone houses, is a place where history and culture converge. It’s a charming place to explore on foot and soak up the local way of life. There are a number of historic churches that you’ll come across while exploring - the Church of St. Michael, the Church of St. Peter, and the Church of St. Rocco, which all showcase intricate architectural details and a sense of reverence. The old town is also home to an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and local shops, it’s an excellent spot to savour authentic Croatian dishes and find unique souvenirs.

One of the most prominent historical attractions in the town is the Mirabella Fortress, often called Peovica. Perched high on a rocky outcrop, this fortress was built during the 13th century and was used as a hideout by the notorious Omis pirates who terrorised the Adriatic Sea. Today, visitors can climb up the steep path to the fortress and enjoy panoramic views of the town, the coast, and the surrounding landscapes.

Omis boasts a pristine stretch of coastline with a variety of beaches, each catering to different tastes. One of the most popular is the sandy beach at the mouth of the Cetina River, offering calm waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Adventurous spirits may prefer the pebbly beach of Brzet, known for its perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Just a short drive from Omis, there's the small village of Stanici, which is renowned for its unspoiled beaches and crystal-clear waters. It's a serene place to relax and escape the crowds often found in more touristy locations.

The Cetina River is a defining feature of Omis, and one of the most exhilarating activities here is to take a rafting excursion along its emerald waters. The river cuts through the impressive Cetina Canyon, creating a thrilling white-water rafting experience that appeals to adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. The journey offers panoramic views of the rugged cliffs, lush forests, and the charming villages that dot the landscape.

The nearby Biokovo Nature Park is an outstanding natural attraction. The Biokovo Mountain Range, part of the Dinaric Alps, offers incredible hiking opportunities, with well-marked trails leading to panoramic viewpoints where you can marvel at the Adriatic Sea and the islands scattered along the coast. The juxtaposition of the rugged mountain terrain and the azure waters is simply stunning and will leave a lasting impression.

The history, natural beauty, and cultural vitality of Omis combine to create a destination that is rich in character and charm. Whether you're seeking adventure on the Cetina River, exploring the medieval fortresses, or simply savouring the local cuisine, Omis has something to offer every traveller who ventures to this utterly enchanting corner of the Dalmatian coast.

Reviews

  • Hidden from the village, but a few steps from the beach

    on 20/06/2023

Beautiful villa in the middle of an olive grove, a bit hidden from the village, but a few steps from the beach. Very clean, nice decor and very spacious. Nice outdoor area with small pool to cool off. Highly recommended!

  • Fantastic

    on 22/05/2023

Super nice cottage in a nice location

  • Spacious, well designed and comfortable

    on 17/04/2023

We loved staying at Ivana and Josko's place and it was perfect for our family group. Our grandchildren loved the pool, garden and swings and the villa was spacious, well designed and comfortable. In view of the time of year some days were quite cool and some local amenities not fully open. But the local shop and restaurants in neighbouring Brela provided everything we needed. Pisak was peaceful and all the beaches were gorgeous. We would love to return.

  • I wouldn't think twice about staying here again!

    on 25/06/2022

Ivana was a very welcoming host, and has a charming house. It is furnished and built to a very high standard. It was exceptionally clean, and had everything needed for a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. The pool was great and there are enough areas to sit and chill out around it. The views have to be seen to be believed. Pisak is a relatively quiet village, and this combination made for an ideal base from which to explore the coast and into the mountains. Omis is only 15 minutes away, and has everything you might need. I wouldn't think twice about staying here again. I couldn't recommend it more. Our first trip to Croatia and definitely not our last!

  • Wonderfully nestled in olive trees

    on 20/08/2021

Pisak is a beautiful little place off and off the main road, which despite its great location is a bit away from the hustle and bustle. The house is located above the village but the property is wonderfully nestled in olive trees and is very locked and quiet because of the design and the house is very tastefully and modernly furnished. There are no direct neighbors. Approx. 5-10 minutes to the sea via street and a steep staircase (maybe 100 hm). The pool is small, but offers perfect cooling. Very nice support from the owner. Great bays, beaches and sights nearby. There were six of us (two families).

  • Located 5 min from beach with spectacular sea view

    on 21/05/2021

We spend a great week. Warm invitation, superb local information and tips, all support u need and imagine. Ivana is a great host. House is exactly as you can seen on photos. New build, spacious, located 5 min from beach with spectacular sea view, everything clean you will think you are the first guest here. House is so good equipped You dont have to bring nothing from home. 100% family friendly. definitely we would come back again next year.

  • Wonderful house

    on 25/06/2019

Villa Zlatica is immaculately clean, very spacious and has every amenity you could wish for in a very quiet and peaceful location. It’s no reflection on this wonderful house but be aware of mosquitos due to the coastal setting. The location is very easy to find and once greeted upon arrival you will be given some great information to plan some wonderful days out, or just settle for lazy days by the very private pool. There is a local convenience store a few hundred meters away or larger supermarket 10 mins drive. The small local beach is very clean, sheltered and close but down a very steep hill so definitely a drive if accompanied by young or old. There are no sandy beaches on the coastline just smooth pebbles which suited us down to the ground, sand is very overrated, especially with very young children! Overall, an amazing stay at Ivana’s which is perfect for staying local or as a base to explore amazing villages, beaches towns and cities that Croatia has to offer.

  • Perfect house

    on 17/06/2019

A perfect house to rent, clean and with fantastic areas to chill and spend time together. Our family loved it.

  • Better than expected

    on 20/05/2019

It was our first stay to Croatia, we wanted to stay in a place which would be good for sightseeing as well as for relax. Villa Zlatica was ever better than we expected. House was clean, nice decorated and big enough for our family (2+4), located near by Trogir, Split and other beautiful places; we had a swimming pool, terrace and breathtaking views. Ivana and her husband are excellent hosts, so nice and helpful. Thank you so much

  • Would definitely recommend

    on 12/09/2018

Lovely home and surroundings in both home and in Pisak city and beach. Would definitely recommend.
