Pool Modern Ideal for Kids Walk to Beach All Bedrooms En-Suite

This stunning beachfront villa boasts uninterrupted sea views, a private swimming pool and seven bedrooms accommodating 14 guests in style. Located less than an hour's drive south of Split, near the village of Bajnice along the Dalmatian coast, Villa Stara offers a wonderful Croatian seaside retreat for those who travel here.

The small village of Bajnice is located around 10 miles south of Split. Once a quiet fishing village, Bajnice has slowly started to merge with its neighbours to create a steady flow of settlements along the coast. Much of the coastline here is dotted with narrow pebble shores, so for a larger beach, it is best to head towards the town of Podstrana to the north of the village.

Upon entering Villa Stara, you are welcomed into the ground floor where you will find a semi open-plan living and dining room. Tucked over to one side is the living area, boasting three large, vibrant yellow sofas centred around a wall-mounted television, this is the perfect place to snuggle up and relax in the evenings. To the other side of this space and stretching the length of the room is the impressive dining area, seating twelve guests around the grand wooden dining table. The kitchen is located in a separate room and boasts doors leading out to the private pool terrace. The kitchen is modern and bright, with crisp white cabinets and rich, wooden worktops that are equipped with all you could need to cook up a delicious homecooked meal.

Also on the ground floor, you will find a snug TV room. Providing yet another space to relax and unwind, this space would suit any children in the group looking to chill out on comfortable sofas in their own space. The games room in the garage will also be a hit with kids. Equipped with a pool table, table tennis and darts board, this is the perfect place to strike up some friendly competition. And when you feel like working up a sweat, there is even a small home gym at Villa Stara!

All of the seven bedrooms at Villa Stara are located on the first floor. Each of the modern bedrooms is stylishly decorated, offering air conditioning for added comfort as well as their own en-suite bathrooms for extra privacy. Six of the bedrooms even boast their own balconies to enjoy the lovely sea views. Of the bedrooms, four are home to good-sized double beds, two with two single beds and one with a double bed and an additional single bed, so there is plenty of space for a large family or group of friends.

Sitting just metres from the sea, Villa Stara is a great choice for those looking to enjoy their own private swimming pool while being able to easily head to the sea for a refreshing swim in the Adriatic Sea. The 36m2 private pool sits to the side of the villa and is surrounded by a spacious terrace dotted with sun loungers, so adults can keep an eye on the kids in the pool while they relax in the sun. To the front of the outside space lies a small lawned area, providing further space to enjoy the sunshine and drink in the sea views. Next to the villa, there is a partially shaded outdoor dining area and barbecue so you can enjoy alfresco dining throughout your stay.

Villa Stara is located right on the beachfront outside of the small village of Bajnice south of Split. Bajnice was once a quiet fishing village but has slowly grown over the years to merge with its neighbouring villages to create a long stretch of residential areas along the coast. The coastline along this area of the Dalmatian coast is mostly home to narrow pebble beaches, but for larger, more accessible beaches head north to Podstrana.

The beaches surrounding Podstrana stretch for 6 km along the coast, and although mostly pebble beaches, they are home to crystal clear azure waters and wide stretches of pebble shores, making a beach trip well worth a visit. On some of the beaches, watersports are available, including windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing. For kids, there are even a few playgrounds nearby to burn off any extra energy and make some new friends.

Podstrana is home to a few stores and a food market selling fresh, local produce, which are a great way to stock up on essentials before heading to your villa. Dalmatia is a region known for its gastronomy, and in Podstrana, there is an excellent selection of local taverns, restaurants and cafes serving a range of cuisines. From Italian to Croatian and even more international flavours, there is something for everyone no matter your preference.

Split is one of the largest cities in Croatia and is the gateway to many of the Dalmatian Islands. Always busy with the hum of activity, Split is a great way to understand Dalmatian life as it truly is. Diocletian's Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most impressive Roman Monuments, and the Cathedral of St Domnius boasts a unique octagonal shape and is one of the best-maintained Roman buildings standing in the city. You can also easily catch a ferry or catamaran to one of the popular islands such as Hvar or Brac for a day trip to explore the coast.

Nestled along the captivating Dalmatian Coast, it’s a vibrant mix of modern life and ancient history, making it a thriving hub for both locals and tourists.

The heart of Split is the historic Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that stands as one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world. Built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century, this massive complex now forms the nucleus of the city. Within the palace walls, you'll discover a labyrinth of narrow streets, charming squares, and historic buildings. The Peristyle, an open-air courtyard, is a central gathering place, and both the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the Temple of Jupiter showcase remarkable examples of ancient architecture. Strolling through the ancient streets, you'll come across quaint shops, lively cafes, and local markets.

The Riva promenade is the city's vibrant waterfront hub. Lined with cafes, restaurants, and shops, it's the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely stroll, sip a coffee, or dine while overlooking the stunning Adriatic Sea. The palm-lined promenade offers a lively atmosphere day and night, with street performers and events throughout the year.

Just a short walk from the from the centre of Split is Marjan Hill, a pristine nature park that offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city streets. The park features lush greenery, jogging trails, and stunning viewpoints overlooking the city and the sea. It's an ideal place for hiking, picnicking, or simply enjoying the natural beauty of the Mediterranean.

The Split region offers a variety of beautiful beaches. Bacvice and Ovcice are two popular choices conveniently located near the city centre. The sandy shores are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and trying your hand at the local beach sport, picigin. Exploring further along the coast, you'll find numerous rocky coves and pebble beaches, each with their own unique charm.

For adventure seekers, Split offers a wide array of outdoor activities and water sports. From kayaking and paddle-boarding to sailing and scuba diving, there's something for everyone who wants to experience the Adriatic up close. Split is a great base for taking boat trips to the nearby islands, where you can explore underwater caves and secluded beaches.

Croatian cuisine is known for its fresh, local ingredients and Mediterranean influence. You’ll be able to savour delicious seafood, grilled meats, and traditional recipes.
