Overview of Ohana Villa

Ohana Villa is a tropical house that has to be seen to be believed. It is totally unlike any other property on this beautiful and peaceful little island. It sits high up on the end of a small sandy cove and enjoys open and sweepingly dramatic views across the ocean.

The owners of this very special house live very busy lives and conceived it as a haven of peace and quiet that they could escape to with family and friends to share some quality and simple back-to-nature time. Now they invite you to share its magic. On arrival you'll find the stressed city person disappears, the swim suits go on and the pure ocean breezes begin to work their relaxing charms.

The property has screened doors, windows, and a porch with which to enjoy the tropical atmosphere. Two pools are available to be enjoyed for a refreshing dip at any time of day. Golf, tennis, and water sports are all available nearby.

Restaurants are only a one minute walk away and the local supermarket is a 15-minute drive. Four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms provide luxury accommodation for a large family or up to 4 couples. A bunk and a crib can also be provided for children. There are also two additional bathrooms.

Interior & Grounds

The living room is open to the bay but guests can wind down the canvas shutters to provide shade for the huge teak day beds. There are 4 teak upright arm chairs and a large coffee table.

The kitchen is open and breezy with two large ceiling fans and Demerara windows on sticks that open to give a view of the beach below. It is fully equipped with a double door stainless steel fridge with a filtered water and ice making facility, a large stainless steel gas cooker and a dishwasher. To one side is an open-air barbecue area and on the other is a pantry and utility room with washer and dryer.

It has an en suite with an open shower and bathtub with shutters that open to the view, air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Bedroom Two: Queen size four poster bed with an opening onto a unique private verandah. It has an outlook across the pond and swimming pool to the amazing sea view beyond and a unique en suite bathroom, air conditioning and ceiling fans.

Map, Location & Local Information

Trinidad and Tobago are sister islands that are known locally as T'nT - although quite close geographically they are miles apart in terms of character. Trinidad is a bustling, cosmopolitan, culturally diverse, industrialised island, with one of the strongest emerging economies in the area and Tobago is the complete contrast.

Tobago is the original Robinson Crusoe island, it is one of the last unspoilt secrets of the Caribbean – commercialisation leaves it untouched. The interior is lush rainforest and surrounding it are quiet, sandy beaches. In the past several European nations have fought for its charms, but the British have left the most lasting impression and English is widely spoken. Tobagonians are kind and friendly people, extremely proud of their home and inviting of vacationers wishing to partake in their culture.

Tobago is an utterly captivating holiday destination, here are just a few reasons why Family Rest Villa is situated in one of the most beautiful and idyllic islands on earth:
- Tobago is the south of the Hurricane belt
- There are an abundance of birds, wildlife and empty beaches – not a tower block in site.
- Fabulous snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities.
- Championship golf and fishing.
- It is home to the oldest protected rainforest in the western hemisphere.
- Coral reefs, manta rays, angel fish, wild parrots and 90p beers!
- Wonderful local people – dignified, friendly and talented.
- Excellent and varied cuisine.

Trinidad & Tobago is positioned at the base of the Caribbean near the coast of Venezuela. You can fly on Air Canada, British Airways, BWIA, Virgin, Air France, Monarch, American Airlines, Sky Service, LIAT, Caribbean Star and Condor. BWIA and Tobago Express make connections on the 15 minute flight between the islands. Pickup from Crown Point airport can be arranged and it takes 20 minutes to drive to Family Rest Villa.

Local activities include: Spa, Golf, Rainforest Tours, Shopping, Bird Watching, Yoga, Turtle Watching, Surfing, Boogie Boarding, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Horseback Riding, Wake Boarding, Jet Ski, Kite Surfing, Fishing, Snorkeling, Glass Bottom Boat, Goat and Crab Racing.

Getting There...

Tobago’s Crown Point International Airport handles international and local flights. Ferries from Trinidad take two and a half hours and arrive at Scarborough.

From the US:
American travellers can fly direct with Caribbean Airways from New York, or via Port of Spain, Trinidad, from Miami.

From the UK:
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic both fly direct to Crown Point.

Reviews for Ohana Villa

Ohana Villa Reviews

  • Scenic & calming. Natural & luxurious at same time

Posted by Nalini J. on 30/01/2017

Even though this was our 3rd stay at Ohana in 1 1/2 years, the magic of this place did not wane one bit. There is no other villa of its kind in Trinidad or Tobago, & possibly the Caribbean. It's definitely built to optimise on what the location has to offer. It's perched on a cliff, allowing for gorgeous views that you can enjoy from almost any spot. It's also quite cool & breezy. There are many overhead fans if it's still too warm for some. In addition to the sea views, the 4 rooms variously look out onto a large koi pond & 2 infinity pools (1 deep, 1 shallow), and a charming courtyard. You can sit in the shallow & and take in a nice drink & the sunset. It's clear that alot of love is poured into the care of the villa and its grounds. Everything is as advertised: air conditioning in rooms, bathtub in the master, washer, dryer, fridge, stove/oven, micro, heated water, 1 tv, wifi etc.Upon your arrival, you're treated to a lovely welcome package of various eats and drinks, including some nice wine and beer. Rena, the head housekeeper, is a very warm and affable lady & checks in once a day to make sure you're comfortable, & to have the rooms cleaned & toiletries replenished. Other than that, she is always only a phonecall away if you need assistance. There are so many unique and special touches to this villa that make it an experience and not just a stay - outdoor shower, smaller courtyard for reading or games (there are LOTS of books & magazines if you so decide), fruit trees on the grounds... You won't want to leave but if you do decide to go out & about, there are restaurants & beaches nearby, including a lovely private beach that is accessible via stairs from the property. It's also a gorgeous & increasingly popular choice for an intimate wedding...I had my reception here as well! Makes for breath-taking photos & a very relaxing honeymoon. Just google Ohana villa and you'd see images of the destination weddings held there. The owner of the villa is also a real pleasure to deal with, whether you're just staying or having an event there. You won't regret this stay. 3 stays there & I still got teary-eyed when it was time to leave. This place is truly a gem.

  • Scenic views from a beautiful villa

Posted by Richard L. on 15/11/2016

Our trip back to the beautiful tropical twin Island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, once called home, allowed us to spend time with family while celebrating one of my brother's major Birthday milestones. Although we were aware that we would be spending a few days in Tobago at the Ohana Villa and what the property would potentially offer having looked it up online, nothing could describe or capture the true beauty and architectural design of an Original Caribbean Villa as showcased by this stunning property. We were breathless on arrival on taking in the beauty of the property, the warm welcome of its staff and the stunning views it presented, nestled on the hilltops of Bacolet Tobago.

We all enjoyed the comfort and safety the accommodations had to offer with its many pools, ponds and the absolutely tasty meals prepared by Lisa the onsite chef. Not only would we recommend this location as a family or couples perfect destination, we would definitely make it our stay of choice on our next visit to Tobago!

  • Amazing property! Can't wait to go back!

Posted by Craig M. on 15/11/2015

Ohana is a truly remarkable home located a convenient distance from Scarborough. The pictures don't do the property justice. Everything was open and airy. The A/C in the bedrooms made sleeping comfortable. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. It was tough leaving and we certainly look forward to returning!
