Hop on a plane and wake up in paradise, also known as St Lucia. This island has been blessed by nature, with stunning geographic sites that boast breathtaking beauty. A lot of the beauty of the island has remained unspoilt, and it is a down-to-earth place even though it is dotted with countless small and luxurious resorts.

Of course, one of the main reasons to visit St Lucia is the stunning beaches. There are, however, few white sand beaches with most offering a mix of orange and striking black, with only a few rare exceptions. If you’re seeking a white-sand beach, head to the man made beach, Anse des Pitons where the pristine sand is regularly imported - this is also the beach frequented by guest of Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort..

There is more to St Lucia’s natural beauty than beaches, the island has many lush, tropical landscapes worth exploring. Must-visits are the 19,000-acre National Rain Forest, the Diamond Botanical Gardens, Pigeon Island, and the Sault Falls.

The island is broken up into two key areas; the North that offers lazy days and modern comforts and The South, which boasts old plantations hidden beaches and geological wonders - including the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic plugs and spires.

This villa is located in the luxury St Lucia resort and hotel, which is one of the most refined beachfront home away from home in the world. It is set within over 100 acres of lush rainforest on the site of a sugar plantation from the 18th century. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pitons are on your doorstep. The grounds of the resort usher down to Sugar Beach, one of the rare white sand beaches that leads into the glistening Caribbean Sea.

You will be spoilt for choice staying at this villa, thanks to the resorts incredible offerings. There are three restaurant offerings on-site: The Great Room, which is perfect for discerning diners; The Terrace Restaurant, which is ideal for slightly more laid-back dining and Bayside Restaurant, which is perfect for enjoying Caribbean delicacies. There are also three bars and lounges: Bayside Bar in St Lucia, Cane Bar and The Palm Court Bar and Lounge, so you can wander down from your villa for cocktail and fresh local specialties. Of course, there may be nights you don’t want to leave your villa, so you can order room service or you can take private dining to a new level with a beach service dinner for two.

As if the dining options were not enough, there’s also plenty to keep you entertained. Spend your days at The Rainforest Spa, with specialty treatments sure to help you relax into your holiday like never before. You can also feel zen thanks to the yoga and pilates classes. There’s also complimentary watersports for those seeking something a little more exciting, from windsurfing and sailing to kayaking and Hobie Cats.

About the Island & Getting There

About St Lucia

The Land, The People, The Light – St Lucia’s motto couldn’t be more representative of this captivating sovereign island nation. Witness dazzling scenery, be spellbound by the fascinating locals and allow for St Lucia to brighten your day and show you a new way to life.

St Lucia gained its independence from the British Commonwealth in 1979 and after centuries of a French presence, which is most visible today in the original Capital of Soufrière, St Lucia is famous for its Pitons & landscapes and vivacious community.

St Lucia really is a hiker’s Nirvana! Where to start? That’s a tough question. However, with the likes of - The Diamond Botanical Gardens, Enbas Saut Waterfall Trail, Pigeon Island National Park, Sulphur Springs Park Scenic Drive and Tet Paul Nature Trail – it doesn’t matter! These UNESCO listed sites are a sight to behold. If you're likely to take to the water, you'll be able to admire the rich marine biodiversity just off the shore of St Lucia. Over 60% of the marine area is made up of coral reefs and these are very poular with snorkelers and scuba divers. Just make sure you put time aside to relish these privileged land & seascapes.

Start your cultural trip downtown in Castries. Here you will be provided with more than enough entertainment for an afternoon and evening. The local Market runs throughout the week and is certainly the right place to come for exotic fruits and tantalising Street Food - the Green Fig & Salt Fish is local delicacy and it's not scarce, so perhaps try a few variants on this regional intricacy and let us know which is your favourite! The vendors are incredibly animated, so expect a show to be put on if you choose to explore this part of the island and brush up on those haggling skills. La Place Carenage and Point Seraphine are very popular Malls and if you bear in mind the added incentive of these complexes being Duty-Free, you and your guests will certainly get some good deals (A taxi back to your villa after such an excursion is suggested!).

Many holiday makers are surprised to learn of St Lucia’s rich cocoa legacy. Ever since the 1700’s this island has been producing cocoa related products, that are incredibly sought after all across the world. Morne Coubaril Estate and La Dauphine Estate specialise in showcasing how plantations use to gather & manufacture the Cocoa Bean fruit and organise educational tours. After learning all about St Lucia’s former booming cocoa industry, you will probably need some therapy…how about chocolate therapy like you’ve never encountered before? Enquire at some of the islands more renowned Spas and you’ll be able to experience the benefits of a chocolate facial and massage. Remember - Chocolate isn’t a food, it’s a medicine!

We have selected some of the most exciting villas on the island, so browse through these dreamy holiday homes and have a look at our cheeky little guide to St Lucia!

Prior to Booking

Please be aware that St Lucia is an island nation that experiences weather patterns dictated by the Atlantic Ocean to the north of the island and the Caribbean Sea to the south of the island. This tropical rainforest climate results in the island experiencing a hurricane season, which usually occurs between June to November. When thinking about booking your holiday to St Lucia, please consult Foreign travel advice for more information.

What an impressive destination!! It’s an expensive option, but our villa was like something out of a fantasy. Private plunge pool and gorgeous white room with netted bed. The bed itself was beyond any I’ve ever slept in. Private butler plans your every need (if this is your wish).
Every whim is accommodated! I can’t describe in words the beauty and elegance of Sugar Beach.
