The open plan living area offers plenty of spots to relax, whether you’re cosied up in the living room with a good book or sitting watching a movie on the flat-screen television. The living area opens out onto a expansive patio, which is the perfect spot for enjoying breakfast or dinner, if you can catch the sunset it’s even better. The kitchen opens up onto the indoor dining room, and also onto the patio. Large windows make it convenient to pass food and drinks through, and keep those in the kitchen included in the conversations going on. Of course, should you wish to relax you can enjoy scrumptious meals by the villa’s chef.

Three of the four bedrooms are on the first floor and all offer airconditioning and en-suites. The master bedroom also boasts a cable television should you wish to relax in bed with a cup of tea and a movie. The master bedroom and the second bedroom share a balcony that overlooks the magnificent views of Gibbes Bay, while the smaller balconies of the other two rooms have views over the villa’s lush gardens.

The setting of this Villa is magical, so it’s no surprise the Villa takes full advantage of the sun, beach views and lush gardens. As you enter the Villa you’re surrounded by lush greenery, and front and centre is the shimmering pool that’s surrounded with sun loungers. There’s even a water feature for added opulence. As you lay by the pool, you can hear the sounds of the waves crashing and calling you into their waters - and should you wish it’s just a few steps till you’re in the beach. You can even take your loungers with you through the private direct access from the Villa to the beach.

Barbados is an enchanting island, renowned for stunning beaches, sensational sunsets and a rich history that can be experienced through various activities and experiences on the island.

It’s an ideal place to visit all year round due to the warm climate, that rarely gets unbearably hot due to the light sea breeze.

Of course, travelling to Barbados you will have packed your swimwear and your flip flops because you want to visit as many stunning beaches as possible. There are countless beautiful beaches to enjoy, from Miami and Rockley Beach to Bottom Bay and Mullins Beach - the latter being one of the lost popular spots in Barbados. Many beaches offer sun loungers, changing room facilities and even restaurants and bars, so you can stay long after the sun goes down.

There is more to the island then beaches, if you fancy sticking to dry land head inland and explore the endless fields of sugar canes that are dotted with plantation houses. These plantation homes offer an incredible insight into the history of Barbados, and are well worth a visit in order to truly appreciate the history of this country. There are many other historical sights to see, from The UNESCO-listed town centre of Bridgetown to Speightstown, the second largest town centre which features architecture that is both stunning and historical.

Of course, in Barbados you have to do as the locals do, which means trying the island’s internationally recognised rum and their local specialty - flying fish. After all, you can’t visit a new country and not sample the local cuisine.

About the Island & Getting There

About Barbados

At first glance you could be mistaken for thinking that Barbados is purely a beach holiday destination, but you're urged to reconsider this common belief. The island of Barbados is peppered with astonishing landscapes (both coastal and inland), enchanting locals, sublime cuisine, intriguing rums, fascinating wildlife, symbolic architecture and a selection of striking holiday villas.

Delve deep into the history of the island and start your holiday by visiting Sunbury Plantation House & Museum. This former plantation was built in 1660's and the premises are scattered with antiquities that delicately detail a recent history of Barbados. St. Nicholas Abbey also provides an insightful representation of Sugarcane production, Bajan artefacts and a wonderful observation point at Cherry Tree Hill. If you’re keen to visit one of the oldest Parliamentary buildings within the Commonwealth and appreciate the democratic legacy of Barbados, drop by The Parliament Buildings. This neo-gothic congress can be found in Bridgetown and act as a representation of Barbados’s Independence. There is so much history present throughout the island and as a result, Bridgetown and its Garrison has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, which the locals are very proud of.

Great efforts have been made to persevere the natural beauty of Barbados, so if you’re drawn to the exploration of National Parks and multicoloured gardens, it won’t take you long to realise that Barbados is a haven for such paradises! Within the Andromeda Botanic Gardens, Farley Hill National Park, Flower Forest, Hunte's Gardens and Welchman Hall Gully - visitors, and Botanist alike, will be lost for hours admiring these astonishing botanical parklands. Keep an eye out for the Dwarf Poinciana, or Peacock Flower…it’s the national flower of Barbados.

Bajan’s take their food very seriously! If you and your fellow travellers are enticed by the gastronomic aspect of holidaying, we believe you’ve selected the right island. With every aspect of cookery mastered; from pickling to freshly prepared dishes, sweet & savoury, fragrant & spicy and of course, the bountiful choice of seafood. Check out the food stalls in Paynes Bay Church – where vendors exhibit locally made dishes & street food that will scintillate the taste buds. At the end of every working week, locals and tourists both flock to Oistins, for 'Fish Fry Day'. This is a must for those who haven’t undergone the experience! The evening starts with barbecues and then ascends into a joyful party. This caps off a busy few days of work for locals as well as the 'strains' associated with serious holidaying.

Barbados is of course iconic for its Beaches & Rum…so why not bring them together? You will have to go out of your way not to be able to find a beach bar along the west coast of the island, as well as the countless Rum Shops. Yes, you’ve read correctly, Rum Shops! These small and locally run businesses embrace the Bajan spice of life, in liquid form. Very delicious! If you’re searching for something a little more special, take a trip to the east coast and visit Sand Dunes Bar and Restaurant at Windy Hill, for an unforgettable experience.

Barbados is a distinct and striking part of the Caribbean. It’s a great fit for all types of travellers, as the island really does have it all. For a little more information about this delightful island, check out our guide to a remarkable stay!

Prior to Booking

Please be aware that Barbados is an island nation that experiences weather patterns dictated by the Atlantic Ocean to the north of the island and the Caribbean Sea to the south of the island. This tropical rainforest climate results in the island experiencing a hurricane season, which usually occurs between June to November. When thinking about booking your holiday to Barbados Republic, please consult Foreign travel advice for more information.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages

Travelling with children is a humbling experience as you get to see things through their eyes, whether it’s there pure excitement, curiosity or pleasure. Barbados is the perfect place to visit as a family because there is something for everyone to do and see.

This Villa is a family-friendly home away from home, offering the essentials that make life that bit easier at home while also added elements of luxury and excitement, like a swimming pool and the ocean at the edge of the garden. This four bedroom villa has two rooms that feature twin beds, which can be made into kings, that are perfect for children. So whether children are roaming the enclosed garden or swimming till their fingers and toes prune, they’ll be content. Should they get a little weary, there are plenty of comfortable couches to nestle up in and read, and there’s also a flat screen television with cable for movie night.

Barbados itself offers plenty for children, starting with Gibbes beach at the end of the garden, which is a family-friendly beach that offers golden sand for sandcastle building and safe crystal clear waters for snorkeling and swimming.

If you want to take on the seas slightly differently, head into Bridgetown and board the Atlantis Submarines Barbados, which takes passengers to a coral-encrusted shipwreck to see tropical fish up close. What better way to find Nemo. Also in Bridgetown, children (and big kids at heart) can live out their dream of being a pirate aboard the Jolly Roger I, complete with pirate sails, rope swings, planks to walk and BBQ buffet - there’s even swim stops on the way.
