The delightful and beautifully restored Victorian Southwold Cottage is located in a quiet spot in the heart of the trendy Suffolk town of Southwold. With spacious accommodation for six plus a dog, this wonderful holiday home is a fabulous base.

The ever popular Southwold is fantastic with charming independent shops, cosy restaurants and pubs and a wonderful beach featuring colourful beach huts. Southwold is one of Suffolk’s most picturesque seaside towns, and it is easy to see why Southwold Cottage is booked so frequently.

The cottage was recently refurbished to a very high standard. It is stylish, superbly comfortable and offers super comfy furnishings, a gourmet kitchen, a cosy wood-burning stove and three spectacular bedrooms. Much attention has been given to the detail, and the colour palettes are wonderful. The living area is open plan in design with a stylish and comfortable lounge around the wood burner, an elegant dining table and a top-notch kitchen. The DeVol kitchen cabinets are painted a cool olive colour, and the kitchen is complete with a Miele range cooker, other Miele appliances, a Belfast sink and, of course, a Nespresso coffee machine. Sparkling white countertops and striking bronze taps complete the picture giving you no excuse not to come up with a delicious gourmet meal. Guests can sit at the quality dining table with a glass of wine, keeping the chef company!

All three bedrooms are upstairs in various muted shades of blue. You can choose been the Cornish, azure or eggshell blue panelled rooms, all of which offer a warm and elegant ambience. All of the bedrooms are illuminated with natural Suffolk light from the big windows. The master bedroom features a superb kingsize bed and a beautiful ensuite shower room. The other bedrooms offer double beds and share the outstanding family bathroom with its fabulous roll-top bath and shower. It is decorated in the same way as the ensuite shower room.

Outside the door, you can venture on foot to enjoy the delights of Southwold and the bracing coast where you will find the attractive, bustling fishing harbour and the iconic pier. What joy!

Southwold Cottage is found in a quiet little corner of the very scenic town of Southwold. There are few seaside towns quite so quintessentially British as Southwold. With its fine sandy beach and beach hut lined promenade, its refurbished pier and its renowned lighthouse, the town offer a wonderful holiday environment and a welcoming atmosphere.

Southwold lies between Aldeburgh and Lowestoft on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. It is almost an island, being bounded by the North Sea to the East, by the River Blyth and Southwold Harbour to the South West and Buss Creek to the North. There is only one road in and out of the town.

The town is home to the famous Adnams Brewery, a previous winner of The Good Pub Guide’s Brewery of the Year. The brewing rooms are set just behind the High Street adjacent to the town’s iconic lighthouse. You can take a brewery tour throughout the year and can sample the Adnams beers everywhere.

The Southwold Pier is another town focal point. The pier is lined with shops, eateries and amusements. It is a very popular place to be! The working lighthouse is a coastal mark where you can take a tour. It is open subject to weather conditions and is very interesting.

You can take some lovely walks straight from Southwold Cottage. A delightful walk is to cross the River Blyth by foot ferry to Walberswick, crossing back by the footbridge and exploring the trackbed of the old Southwold Railway. This is a gorgeous area where you can enjoy fresh air, good food and wonderful hospitality.

Lowestoft is another fabulous seaside town with much entertainment including the wonderful Somerleyton Hall and Gardens, the East Anglia Transport Museum, Africa Alive, Sparrow’s Nest and Gardens, the Marina Theatre and various other museums.

Aldeburgh is a wonderful escape and is world-renowned thanks to its connection with Benjamin Britten, the founder of the Aldeburgh Festival which takes place every June. It is very pretty with pastel-coloured 19th-century homes lining the promenade and a wonderful pebble beach with fisherman’s huts selling the local daily catch.

Welcome to Suffolk, the East of England's very own treasure trove of delight! Famous for its charming villages, dreamy beaches and a history so rich, Suffolk is the place to be for anyone in search of the ultimate British adventure. We have some fabulous luxury properties waiting just for you. Seaside or countryside – take your pick!

Nature lovers, rejoice! The pristine, breathtaking Suffolk coast is calling your name. Aldeburgh, the coastal town with charm to spare, welcomes you with a shingle beach perfect for salty sea air inhalation, some good old fish and chips and the Aldeburgh Scallop sculpture, a tribute to the legendary composer Benjamin Britten. If you head a little further south, you will stumble upon the oh-so-peaceful village of Orford, complete with a castle on a hill offering panoramic views that will make your heart skip a beat. You can dive into the whimsical wonder of Thorpeness, head to Walberswick where beach huts and sandy shores create a haven for artists and beachcombers or Southwold, a gem with a quirky pier, a stunning beach and the famed Adnams Brewery. These seaside gems offer artsy flair and a delightful dose of coastal bliss.

Right in the beating heart of Suffolk lies Bury St Edmunds, a town so historically loaded it practically whispers tales of the medieval era. Look up, and you will see the majestic St Edmundsbury Cathedral dominating the skyline, a Gothic masterpiece that will make your jaw drop. The Abbey Gardens invite relaxation with colourful flowerbeds and the remains of the once-mighty Bury St Edmunds Abbey. Let us not forget Suffolk's rural charm, sprinkled generously across idyllic villages such as Lavenham. This medieval wool town is a paradise for history buffs, with timber-framed buildings that look like they are straight out of a fairy tale. You can explore the Guildhall and wander through cobbled streets surrounded by boutique shops and quaint tearooms.

For the wild at heart, Thetford Forest is your playground! Cyclists and hikers, get ready for scenic trails winding through dense woodlands and around picturesque lakes. The High Lodge Forest Centre is your one-stop-shop for outdoor thrills. Go Ape treetop adventures and Segway tours await, promising an adrenaline-fueled day amidst nature.

Suffolk's cultural scene is a vibrant kaleidoscope of excitement. The Snape Maltings, nestled by the River Alde, is a cultural hotspot with world-class music events in its iconic concert hall while the annual Aldeburgh Festival is a global magnet for music lovers celebrating the legacy of none other than Benjamin Britten.

Suffolk is like a timeless work of art, where history cuddles up with natural wonders. Whether you are wandering through medieval towns, exploring the coastal marvels or soaking in cultural vibes, Suffolk guarantees a quintessentially British experience that will leave your heart singing. Come on, the adventure awaits!

You will enjoy a wonderful family holiday in Southwold. The pier is a great attraction with its family games, and at night it is very pretty looking back at the town. The fish and chips are always a hit too! Children will also enjoy visiting the iconic lighthouse and spending sunny days on the beach. The little rowing boat ferry to Walberswick is popular, and you can enjoy the walk back or vice versa.

The Alfred Corry Lifeboat Museum is a little gem. Alfred Corry was the Southwold No 1 lifeboat between 1893 and 1918 and during her service she was launched 41 times and saved 47 lives. She has now been restored to her original lifeboat form having been in several hands. The museum tells the story of the lifeboat and her crew throughout her RNLI career. It is fascinating.

There are so many children in Lowestoft including 14 lanes of glow bowling at the Richardson’s Family Entertainment Centre, skating and an arcade on Claremont Pier and over 35 rides, attractions and shows at the Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park. Set in 50 acres, the theme park has ridden up to 50mph and others where you will get soaked. Smaller children will enjoy the Flying Elephant ride, Balloon Rays and the Big Train whilst the older thrill-seeking ones enjoy the Wave Breaker and Kite Flyer. There are sea lion and parrot shows, so something for the whole family.

The East Anglia Transport Museum is a wonderful tourist attraction which is educational as well as fun. It is a living museum showing the development of transport over almost a century. Vehicles of yesteryear can be seen in action. It is a wonderful opportunity to travel on types of vehicle that are now half-forgotten.

Africa Alive offers interactive animal adventures where you can explore the sights and sounds of Africa. You will discover lions, giraffes, meerkats and hunting dogs from the African continent. The ‘Plains of Africa’ centrepiece is where you will spot 5 species of savannah animals including giraffes and rhinos. You will get a good view of the lions from the Lookout Lodge, and you will walk right through the lemur’s enclosure. There are also bushbabies and colobus monkeys. Bird lovers will enjoy the boardwalk and spot a wide range of British wildlife. There are feeding talks and Bird of Prey displays. Get ready to board the safari road train to discover this amazing park!

    Great location. Lovely luxury property

A delightful holiday cottage with excellent location and a luxury feel. Not for those who are uncomfortable around technology as the house is fitted with a lot of smart technology. The quality of bedding, kitchen electricals etc. is all very high-end. Like staying in a 5 start hotel in the heart of Southwold and a warm and snuggly base for a winter break.
