With just 5 minutes drive from the historic city of Bath, this luxuriously finished, renovated Barn provides a peaceful retreat for up to four guests. Unwind in the bubbles of the hot tub with a glass of champagne or cosy up next to the wood-burning fire with a cup of tea; whatever your fancy, Bijou Barn offers a stylish, versatile space for a holiday to remember.

With private parking and entrance, the Barn boasts its own patio area, BBQ, lawned garden and extra-large hot tub, a great space to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining on a summer’s evening. The bright and airy Barn has high ceilings and a country-style open-plan kitchen with a breakfast bar and four-seater dining table. The kitchen holds all the appliances you will need to self-cater, including a blender for healthy smoothies, a Nespresso machine for your morning coffee and everything in between, from wine glasses to a dishwasher.

Against a feature wall is a cosy log-burning fire to keep the open plan area warm and toasty, with comfy sofas and a leather armchair to recline with a glass of red after a day of exploring. There is also a flat-screen TV and Wifi throughout to keep all the family entertained.

The sofa in the living room pulls out to a pocket-sprung sofa bed (4ft 6 mattress), and the master bedroom holds a king-size bed with a wardrobe and smart workspace area of desk and chair. The family bathroom is tastefully designed and has a bathtub and an overhead shower.

The garden benefits from access leading directly to miles of local countryside walks, the most famous of which is the Cotswolds Way and Beckford’s Tower, a great spot to visit. While local favourite the Hare and Hound pub is just a few steps away, a great place for Sunday roasts or evening meals.

Bijou Barn benefits from a rural location, but with easy access to local amenities, 5 minutes by car, an enjoyable 25-30 minute walk or a park-and-ride bus providing a 5 minute trip to the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, where guests can soak up the historic architecture and landmarks.

Famous for its thermal spas, Bath provides a historic, elegant spa retreat. Live it up like a Roman in the mineral-rich rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa, a fantastic spot to unwind in the heated water and take in the panoramic views. Then pay a visit to the historic Roman Baths, well-preserved thermae dating back to Fifth Century AD. Although visitors cannot access the water, you can marvel at the Roman Temples and Sacred Spring and historical survey artefacts at the museum.

Endless cultural opportunities await you, with The Jane Austen Centre a must for literary fans, with costumes on display and characters bringing to life the impact of the city of Bath on the famous author’s work. If you visit in September, you may get a chance to experience the Jane Austen festival, including a Regency Costumed Promenade, where hundreds of people take to the street in full Regency costume.

Continue the historical theme with a visit to The Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul; once a Benedictine monastery, it is now one of the largest examples of Gothic architecture in the West Country. We recommend taking a Tower Tour, where you will climb the 212 steps to experience the fan-vaulted ceilings, clockface and spectacular city views.

Why not stroll on the Bath Skyline Walk, a six-mile route through meadows, ancient woodlands and pretty valleys, an alternative way to see Bath differently? A long walk must be rewarded with a treat, and there is nothing better than an afternoon tea of sandwiches and delicate cakes to restore your energy. We recommend the Georgian Pump Room Restaurant, which serves a glass of mineral spa water to accompany your feast.

If you want to explore further afield, the barn is perfectly situated. The city of Bristol, Longleat Safari, Cheddar Gorge and the famous town of Glastonbury are all under an hour’s drive away.

  • A wonderful secluded cozy place for a weekend gateaway!

    on 06/11/2023

The property was mmaculate...it is a walled off Oasis on a quiet estate.. once at the Bijou Barn, the rooms were spotless, with a terrific kitchen and the highlight being a wonderful wood burning fire for a very cosy evening in.. the walk around the back to the large Hot Tub tree takes you past a little pond and the hot tub itself is pristine.. the communication with the owner was excellent and she was more than happy to answer any queries.. all in all a wonderful place to stay!

  • I would certainly rebook!

    on 25/10/2023

We stayed at the Bijou Barn for a girly weekend away to celebrate my 40th. The barn was so beautiful and the perfect set up for us. The decor is lovely, the setting is gorgeous and all the finer details added to the experience too; toiletries, bath robes, flipflops, tea, coffee etc.
We loved using the hot tub, which was such a treat, especially once it got dark and all the lights came on! Then getting back into the barn and lighting the log burner.
Kate and Andrew were really helpful and always available if we needed them. The location is perfect, a quick and easy taxi ride or drive into the city centre. Would definitely recommend if you're travelling to Bath and I would certainly rebook.

  • Amazing stay

    on 30/09/2023

Amazing stay, such a beautiful spot. Lovely having some bread etc available and robes and towels were a lovely touch too. Really thoughtful and a great stay for our birthday weekend!

  • Perfect for a weekend away!

    on 23/09/2023

We really enjoyed our time here and it was perfect for a weekend away! Really big garden was enjoyed by our dog.
The little barn is about 5 mins drive from Bath (down the hill) and in a quiet neighbourhood. Deliveroo delivers here too!
House/barn was very spacious and decorated nicely. Kitchen is fully kitted out and lounge was perfect for relaxing and with the log burner it made our stay feel cosy!

  • Beautiful home

    on 30/08/2023

Beautiful home, surrounded by some amazing spaces. Very convenient to get to Bath centre, by walk, taxi or car. Kate was incredibly helpful and gave plenty of recommendations for the local area.

  • We would happily go back!

    on 30/07/2023

Stunning flat in a very quiet convenient location to access Bath by car or bus!
Or even a day out at the races close-by.
It was much larger than we expected and had everything we needed to feel at home.
Great kitchen space and the bed was very comfy.
Hare and Hounds pub well worth a visit - food was good with excellent views.
We had a great stay and my partner loved the large hot tub of an evening.
    We would happily go back!

If you want a peaceful getaway in the nature's lap, then Bijou Barn is the perfect place for you.
We had an amazing time at Kate's place, the location is perfect to reach the city centre, and Kate's a perfect host. She is very active in her response, she helped us with a lot of personalised recommendations which elevated our experience even more. Overall, highly recommended place :)

  • A great place to stay in Bath

    on 30/11/2022

This is a great place to stay in Bath.
Bijou Barn has been really well designed and is very comfortable. It is full equipped and there were lots of unexpected extras. Also, its location is just right as it's in a quiet and peaceful roads but within a moment's walk of the bus down to the centre of town. Fully recommended! Kate is a great host and responds very quickly to all requests for information or advice.

  • Best weekend ever!

    on 29/11/2022

Booked this gorgeous place at short notice, excellent communication from Kate. We were met on arrival and showed around and only left to our own devices once we were comfortable. Hot tub was a clear winner. Location ideal with a pub literally 5 mins walk away. Andrew was on hand throughout, but not needed as all prepared so brilliantly. Would definitely go back - best weekend ever.

  • I cannot fault our stay!

    on 20/09/2022

I cannot fault our stay, very attentive warm and friendly hosts. The place was stunning and in a perfect location with only a short bus ride into Bath.
We fell in love with the stunning property, from the huge private hot tub which was set in the picturesque garden to the comfy bed and very well equipped and clean kitchen.
I can't also not mention the fireplace which was such a perfect addition especially after a dip in the hot tub.
I could not recommend enough, this was by far our best stay and we would love to go back.
Thank you both for making our holiday a memorable and special one.

  • 5 stars is really not enough!

    on 31/05/2022

Just returned home from a week away at Bijou Barn in Bath. The 'apartment' is exceptional. 5 stars is really not enough, the building is beautifully designed with airy high ceilings, huge kitchen with every piece of equipment you could ever need. The rooms are all decorated immaculately with a boutique hotel feel.
There is a log burner which we used nightly, a very large hot tub in the surrounding gardens where you can enjoy a soak in the evening after long days out.
From the moment we arrived, we were made feel so welcome. Kate is a perfect host, offering information on places to visit, restaurants, or walks. Making out time away special with kind treats for us and the dog!
Thanks Kate and Andrew for the best week away, we really didn't want to leave!

  • Hidden gem on the edge of Bath city

Hidden gem on the edge of Bath city. The space is beautifully decorated and has a relaxed feel. Super clean throughout and all the amenities you could need including lovely extras left by Kate and Andrew. Beautiful garden which of course includes the hot tub!
Hosts very accommodating and friendly throughout, nothing too much trouble and always on hand if required. With the beautiful city of Bath on one side and rolling hills on another this is a perfect stay and one I highly recommend!

  • Great location to stay!

A warm welcome by the hosts. Great location to stay, lovely place exactly as described, some lovely walks and views of the skyline from a different perspective. Hosts very knowledgeable of the area and places to visit.

  • We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back!

We had a brilliant time at Bijou Barn - there is so much good stuff to say that I'll try to fit it all into one review! The location is fab, ideal for exploring Bath and the Cotswolds.
It's super quiet and there's an amazing dog-friendly pub a couple of minutes walk away which does delicious food.
The property is absolutely beautiful - so tastefully decorated and really well stocked. There is a log burning fire, lovely bathroom, super futuristic TV, very well stocked kitchen with dishwasher and amazingly comfortable bed. Nothing was missing and there were lots of thoughtful little touches and extras that we really appreciated, from the hand written card to the dressing gowns for the hot tub.
The hot tub itself is brill, in a gorgeous garden and beautifully lit at night. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back!
