Beautiful welcoming Manor filled with history
Created on 28/07/2017
Our visit was like a great house party where the hosts had forgotten to turn up. A beautiful distinguished house, full of history, art and Edwardian quirkiness. A welcoming atmosphere, immediately comfortable and homely. Generous hosts, despite their absence, leaving a feeling of friendship and true hospitality. Fine helpful and accommodating staff. Great gardens complete with deer who wandered in as we arrived - did Wesley the gardener put them there especially? Great library helpfully displayed to show us the history of the house and its occupants. Beautifully situated with easy access to hiking and historical attractions. A great Aga once you got the hang of it. A fitting five days finale to our 3 week hiking tour of the U.K for nine old friends from 5 countries. Very Difficult to leave the house behind. However, we have hundreds of photos to remind us.
A lovely, amazing, warm home!

We all absolutely loved Loch Lomond Manor! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely, amazing, warm home! We loved the links with the Glasgow arts group. We had seen a very interesting programme on the BBC fairly recently about the Glasgow boys!
The house is so welcoming, comfortable, we were so at ease within it. Also lovely to come home to after some long and rather wet walks......
We took the rain in our stride but appreciated the sun when it came out.
We went all around Loch Lomond, to Luss, Falloch Falls, Crianlarich on to Kilchurn castle, and of course Inveraray. We had a great day at Doune castle and beautiful area all round the loch near there.
We had another truly lovely walk around Ardkinglas gardens the waterfalls, poetry in the gazebo, rare trees etc!
Hill House was splendid, loved seeing an identical table outside your drawing room. We also went into Glasgow on the last day to the Mackintosh museum.
My little niece loved the garden, the swings etc.we drove up to the base of ten highlands and all of us just loved the dramatic scenery, the space. So many great memories.
My sister (with a little help from all) completed a very difficult jigsaw puzzle of the world in the evenings when we all had some quiet, reading, relaxation time.
The DVD player came in handy for the little one, once or twice ( she's not yet three) for half an hour or so when she was tired but not tired enough for bed! Thank you so much again for organising that.
Helensburgh is a truly nice town, some beautiful houses and everyone was so friendly and helpful, it has a good feel. Thank you for all your recommendations, we availed ourselves of them, tea at PJs, Wee Kelpie fish and chips, especially the great Fish! Unfortunately there was no chocolate cake at Hill House! Disappointing! Next time!
Altogether it was such a lovely week, great family reunion from far and wide.
Wesley the gardener and co-house keeper was very helpful and friendly as was the housekeeper.
I truly hope we will be back again, not too far away. We are telling all our friends and relatives. Thank you for your very helpful messages and going out of your way to help, very much appreciated.
A beautiful and enchanting home

I am struggling to find the words to eloquently put how much of a wonderful time we had at your beautiful and enchanting home.
4 days was not long enough to take in all the character and feeling the house contains. From the moment we entered the house it felt like home and we drew many similarities between our families. Not 15 minutes would pass without us finding something that would get our brains creating stories and trying to distinguish where in the blend of history the original house story would end and your family's story begin.
Emma has been emotionally drained by the house. The house smell (in a good way) and its contents instantly reminded her of her Grammy and the loving time she spent at her house. Her Grammy was a history & art enthusiast and surrounded herself in books new and old. She loved the Glasgow Boys. Emma never thought she would discover these senses that would generate such reaction. I know she would have loved her Grammy to have seen the house.
My brother David loved sitting in the front room reading the books as his Wife Asani played the piano. My boys loved the outdoor space playing football on the lawn and down at the swings and the burn. Oliver liked pushing the old Silver Cross pram.
We are a family with 4 children, 3 close in age and the 4th a lot younger. We are 4 boys ranging 24-32-34-36. The kitchen garden is very similar to our family home.
My Mum loved all the original Taps etc throughout the house this is the look that she has spent her time replicating throughout the house. The amount of times I heard her say O Bob look at this, Look at these.
Sorry I seem to have rambled on. I just didn't feel it was doing your wonderful home justice just to say we had a pleasant stay.
I thank you for allowing us to create a lasting memory that we will cherish and review for years to come.
Such an interesting house with all that history.

Thank you so much for letting us use your house - what an amazing building with so many stories within it. I imagine your family had a wonderful time growing up there. It was pretty apocalyptic weather when we arrived but we had a good time on the seafront. The Glengoyne distillery is fantastic and we really enjoyed our tour there.
Thank you again, particularly for Charlie who was a trooper ferrying us around at times!
Your house is absolutely amazing.

I just wanted to say we had a fantastic time. Your house is absolutely amazing and I am so pleased I came across it. The kids absolutely loved the garden in particular the tyre swing. Wesley was very helpful and recommended a great place to go for Sunday lunch. My mum and dad really enjoyed it too and made our trip extra special. Would happily recommend your home to all my friends and family. I hope we are able to come back one day.

"we had such a great time at your place. It was even more impressive seeing and experiencing the house in reality.
We all know, what an honor it was getting the opportunity to stay in a place like your house. It has so much soul, and I felt immediately at home." 25th Feb 2016
Beautifully designed house

We've had the most wonderful Christmas in this beautifully designed house. Our kids are 7 and 8 and so the little house outside, the rope swing and the open fires have been perfect for them - even in the rain! We've also had Grandparents staying who can't walk too far so they have enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere of the sitting room. Mrs S
