Woodside Cottage is a beautiful, idyllic English countryside escape. Located within a huge, 900-acre farm, this is a real retreat away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for those who want a break from their busy day-to-day lives. Boasting four bedrooms, spacious living areas and even a luxurious hot tub outside, from the moment you arrive you can fully relax. The cottage is situated on the outskirts of the pretty little village of Acklington, between Warkworth, Amble and Felton.

Throughout this beautiful property, each furnishing has been carefully considered, creating a luxurious, elegant style, that feels like a real treat. On the ground floor you will find a sociable kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully-equipped for your use, great for whipping up some spectacular family meals, or maybe a picnic to take on a day trip to the Northumberland coast. The lounge is the heart of the home. With stylish sofas and chairs, arranged around an amazing, huge, wood-burning stove, that throws warmth and a cosy atmosphere into the room. This space encourages you to put your feet up and switch off, enjoying every moment in holiday mode! Across this floor, you will find all the bedrooms, great for young families that don’t want to worry about stairs. The master bedroom boasts an opulent, super-king size bed, walk-in wardrobe and a smart TV, so you can spend lazy mornings, curled under the covers watching a movie. There is a further double bedroom and two twin bedrooms. All the rooms share one decadent bathroom, with a huge walk-in shower and a massive jacuzzi bath, one of the biggest we’ve ever seen!

The garden outside is completely picturesque, with views across the farm and a well-maintained lawned are. The patio leads out from the house, offering a charming outdoor coffee table, perfect for your morning coffee, or maybe a glass of wine in the evening. The star of the show has to be the luxurious hot tub, a real treat to melt away any of your lasting worries!

What you should know…

  • There is just one bathroom and no additional WC, the bathroom is very large and incredibly spacious
  • There are resident hens at the cottage next door. Every effort has been made to keep them in their coop at all times, but alike birds and other wildlife, they may very occasionally find their way into the garden
  • There is no BBQ provided at the cottage, however you are welcome to bring your own as long as no disposable BBQ’s are placed on grass or stone.

This charming cottage is located in an idyllic location between Warkworth, Amble and Felton, on the outskirts of the pretty little village of Acklington. With the surrounding areas offering gorgeous villages, picturesque beaches and historical castle and sites, this is the perfect spot for exploring the best of what Northumberland has to offer. With a pub within walking distance and stunning scenery, this area is a fine example of the famous English countryside!

The immediate area is most well-known for the award-winning Morwick ice cream parlour, located just a ten-minute walk from the Cottage’s front door! As the owner of Woodside Cottage also owns 900 acres of arable farm-land around the cottage, you have full access to walk across the fields to explore the beautiful British countryside and most importantly to get to the ice cream parlour!

Just a ten-minute drive away you will find the pretty village of Felton, as well as the coastal town of Amble and the historic village of Warkworth, all worth visiting during your stay. Alnwick and its’ world-famous Treehouse, Castle and Gardens is just a twenty-minute drive away, a must visit, being extremely popular with kids and adults alike!

The cottage and surrounding area is well suited to children, with plenty of space to explore! Kids must be supervised around the hot tub at all times. One baby is welcome to stay at the cottage, however no travel cot or highchair is provided, so make sure you bring your own. The owners of the Cottage also own the 900 acre arable farm where the cottage is situated. This means you are welcome to walk through the private footbapths through the farm and fields to the Morwick artisan ice cream parlour, which is approx. 900m from the cottage through the crop fields (specific routes will be in the cottage).

Kids

Please note there is no travel cot or highchair provided.

Bedding

All bedding is hypo-allergenic, non-feather.

BBQ

There is no BBQ provided, however you are welcome to bring your own as long as no disposable BBQ’s are placed on grass or stone.

Security deposit £250 paid directly to the property owner prior to arrival. It is refundable provided no damage, loss or additional cleaning occurs during your stay.
