Filled with charm and character, Chatton Cottage is the perfect country escape! With the atmosphere of a home away from home, this cottage is easy to settle into and very hard to leave! Located in the pretty village of Chatton, with a newly renovated pub, with very tasty food, a short walk away, the area is hard to beat! The cottage comfortably accommodates eight guests, ideal for large families looking to explore the Northumberland countryside.

Inside this charming holiday cottage, it feels like a home away from home, with little comforts, cosy furnishings and beautiful features throughout. The layout is slightly unusual, being that the main open-plan living space is on the upper floor, with beautiful views down to the garden. This open space is bright and airy, perfect for families to come together and spend some quality time. The kitchen is fully-equipped, with everything you need to cook some delicious meals together before dining around the spacious table. The open living room is arranged around an atmospheric, wood-burning stove, offering a warmth and homeliness to the room, encouraging everyone to relax and settle in. There is a twin bedroom on this floor, with plenty of storage for your belongings. The remaining spacious bedrooms can be found on the ground floor. There is a double bedroom that utilises the stylish family bathroom. The luxurious master suite boasts its own dressing room and en-suite shower room. There is also a further twin bedroom with its own en-suite as well. Each part of this cosy cottage has been carefully designed with a wonderful attention to detail, so you feel right at home, and well taken care of, letting any worries melt away.

Outside, Chatton Cottage boasts a charming lawned garden where kids can play, and adults can enjoy the sunshine during the summer months. A barbeque is provided during the summer, perfect for cooking and dining out in the fresh air!

  • There is private, off-road parking for up to two cars at property and additional parking for 2 cars in front of the property
  • Wi-fi is provided however it cannot be guaranteed as it is provided by a third party, so it may go down at times or the speed not be as fast as you may be used to at home, which is outside of the cottage owner’s control. If Wi-Fi is essential for you we recommend you bring your own mobile dongle. Phone signal is very intermittent here depending on your provider so please bear that in mind.

This charming cottage is located in the gorgeous village of Chatton, in the pretty Northumbrian Valley, bordered by the Cheviots. The drive down to Chatton is stunning, especially on a sunny day. The village itself offers a great, recently renovated pub, The Percy Arms, perfect for lunches or dinner out, when you want a break from cooking! The village store and Chatton art gallery add to the charming atmosphere of this small village.

Make sure you take a picnic to Langleeford, at the foot of the Cheviot Hills, it is walkers paradise with breath-taking 360-degree views. Chillingham Castle and Walled Garden is also just 2-miles away, perfect for exploring with children, taking in the full history and grizzly past of the castle. There are even night-time ghost tours to experience the castle and grounds after dark!

Those looking to explore the picturesque Northumberland coastline, should visit Bamburgh beach, just a 25-minute drive away. Here you will find a mile of uninterrupted sand and dunes sitting between Budle Bay and Beadnell, with gorgeous views of Bamburgh Castle across the beach.

The Chatton Trout Fishery is just half a mile from the cottage, for anyone who enjoys or wants to try fly fishing. Their fishery consists of three lakes; Chatton Lake, Ross Lake, and Dunnydeer Lake.
In the opposite direction, you can find the borders, with several gorgeous villages and towns with Scottish influences, and many old English style pubs, as well as interesting walks and trails.

Bedding
Hypo-allergenic duvets and pillows are provided on each bed. There is no alternative available. The linen is all by The White Company.

Accessibility
Accommodation across two floors. 3 of the bedrooms and the family bathrooms are located on the ground floor and the twin bedroom, WC and living area is located on the first floor. There is 1 step down to the family bathroom and 1 step down to the master bedroom en suite. The two en suites have walk-in showers.

Dogs
Dogs can not be left unattended in our House. If you wish to visit somewhere where dogs are not welcome, such as a country house, a restaurant or go on a boat trip, The owner can arrange dog sitting for you. Their charge is £8 per hour or part thereof (paid to the sitter direct).

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit £250 paid directly to the property owner prior to arrival. It is refundable provided no damage, loss or additional cleaning occurs during your stay.
