The perfect retreat for couples looking for a cosy, dog friendly getaway in beautiful countryside, or for anyone wanting to explore this unspoiled part of the country. The accomodation comprises of a fully fitted kitchen, a lovely sitting room with woodburning stove, a cosy double bedroom and a huge bathroom with double-ended bath and walk-in shower.

The Easton Walled Gardens are about 3 miles from Burton-le-Coggles and as a guest of The School House, you have free access to the gardens at all times, even when closed to the general public. Explore the rediscovered gardens of the former Easton Hall, and enjoy nearly 12 acres of beautiful grounds, with seasonal highlights from snowdrops to sweet peas, and from tulips and daffodils to roses and meadows.

The excellent local pub, The Cholmeley Arms, is just a short stroll away. The larger village of Corby-Glen is just a 5-minute drive away, here a wider range of amenities can be found.

The market town of Stamford is just a 20-minute drive away. How long have you owned the property?
It's been in the family since it was built in around 1830

What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
It has been lived in by one family for several years so when it became vacant we realised that due it being so pretty and in such a lovely village that it would make the perfect holiday cottage.

Really do? Visit Burghley House and the Garden of Surprises
Really eat? The Cholmeley Arms in the village or The Olive Branch at Clipsham.
Really see? Lincoln Cathedral

What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area? Guests have exclusive out of hours access to Easton Walled Gardens during their stay, but they should also visit Barnack Hills and Hollows- an old Roman quarry now full of wildflowers and a lovely place to walk.

    The School House is a beautiful place, every room has its own charm and it is clear a lot of thought has gone into every aspect of the accommodation. The School House is very homely, all the furniture is really comfortable and the bathroom is just spectacular. The Bose speaker is a particularly nice touch - great for listening to music in any part of the house. Just an excellent stay, we will definitely consider returning in future! Thank you again.
