Overview

All Bedrooms En-Suite

Kensington Gardens Apartment is a stunningly finished two bedroom flat offering prestigious, yet unpretentious, accommodation in the heart of one of London’s trendiest areas: Notting Hill.

This inviting flat has been cleverly designed, with a meticulous architectural eye, to offer a light-filled and airy lower-ground floor home. Kensington Gardens Apartment strikes the balance between being comfortably cosy, and achingly cool with its zesty, fresh interiors.

With polished parquet flooring throughout, and classical Victorian architecture providing high ceilings and well proportioned rooms, this home offers a contemporary, Scandinavian twist on a traditional structure.

Incredibly bright throughout, the kitchen has been exquisitely designed with a glass roof and floor-to-ceiling glass back wall, with French windows giving directly onto the private garden. Guests will imbibe a sense of the changing seasons, whilst enjoying this strikingly modern eat-in kitchen; the sleek dining space offers a wooden table with white Eames chairs. Finished in industrial greys, slate flooring and glossy handleless cupboards, appliances are top-notch, whilst guests will enjoy the requisite touches such as coffee machine and dishwasher.

The living room at Kensington Gardens Apartment is a chic affair; it offers a stylish space to unwind after a busy taking in London’s West End. Finished with panache, there are bold design touches such as funky red leather chair, vintage poster art, solid wood furnishings with a retro, 50’s feel and slick ornamental fireplace.

There are two bedrooms, and the apartment can accommodate four to five guests (there is a sofa bed in the living room). The master bedroom is both simple and sedate, offering an incredibly tranquil aura, finessed with a light touch: crisp quality bedlinen, vintage ski art on the walls and elegant window shutters. Guests are guaranteed a restorative night! The twin bedroom is equally tranquil, offering a chic and masterfully understated bedroom for two, with abundant light and garden views. These rooms are calm and inviting for weary visitors after the bustle of the city’s streets!

With two bathrooms and a WC, there will be no bathroom queues! Both bathrooms are of hotel grade, finished respectively with cool marble and timeless matte tiling, all the hallmarks of quality are present. This home has ample storage throughout and wonderful ambient low-lighting options.

There is an impeccable garden, complete with dining terrace, immaculate lawn and decking - the latter is deal for reclining with a book, or a glass of wine, amid the greenery; a little oasis of tranquillity in the midst of one of the city’s most “happening” areas.

At Kensington Garden Apartment, guests have all the privacy of an independent home, along with the hotel style touches of comfort: personal welcome, round-the-clock host support, fluffy thick towels and complimentary toiletries!

Notting Hill is one of London’s trendiest areas; it is a vibrant and upmarket part of West London, with large Victorian villas, pastel coloured homes around the picturesque mews streets and cutting-edge boutiques. This is eclectic, vivacious London at its best!

Notting Hill is extremely well connected to the rest of London via the Central, Circle and District lines, is close to some of London’s most elegant parks, including Kensington Gardens and Holland Park. A stroll in Kensington Palace Gardens followed by afternoon tea at The Orangerie is a wonderfully civilised way to spend an afternoon.

The Serpentine Gallery showcases a range of contemporary art and offers a bite-size gallery experience, whilst the major museums are a short distance away, including the V&A.

Just moments from the busy throng of Portobello Road, visitors will find squares full of old school charm and Victorian pubs. Shopping along Westbourne Grove and Ledbury Road will see a jostling mix of upscale interiors shops alongside cutting-edge brands and second-hand stores brimming with records, collectables and independent coffee shops.

Portobello Market is the worlds oldest antique market and sells everything from artisan bread to vintage clothes, ceramics and music.

For a rainy afternoon, the Electric cinema is one of the oldest working cinemas in Britain, offering not only a great range of independent cinema, but also cashmere blanket, cocktails and delicious food!

The Notting Hill Carnival is the second largest street festival in the world, after Rio, a colourful three-mile parade of Caribbean food and music.

With its mix of quirky backstreets, regal architecture, artsy crowd and history, Notting Hill is a wonderful place to spend a few days, whether it be antiques, film, food or shopping that interests you! This labyrinth of mews, coffee shops and Instagram-worthy pastel coloured homes, as seen in the film Notting Hill is a place visitors will uncover hidden gems along with iconic spots!

Kids

Best Suited For: Children
Ideal for Teens

Kensington Garden Apartment is an excellent choice for families with children over the age of six. The airy and lateral layout offers a safe and bright space for children; the twin bedroom is a tranquil and calm room, whilst the deep baths and cosy lounging space will meet all “downtime” needs!

Teens can rest in the knowledge that there is wifi, a modern and well-equipped kitchen and television. The sofa bed is a good option for an older child wanting a bit of independence.

For family meals, picnics or simply time relaxing together, the garden is a safe, enclosed, shady spot to come together at the end of the day, or perhaps for a summer’s breakfast.

On a Saturday morning, both the Electric cinema and the Gate Picturehouse host children’s Saturday movies. Perhaps follow this with a visit to Biscuiteers; a cafe on Kensington Park Road where children can ice their own biscuits!

Holland Park Adventure Playground is an excellent choice on a warm day, offering so much from swings to mini climbing wall to the aerial runway! This is the Royal Borough’s largest park with over twenty-two hectares of gardens, play facilities, cafe and woodland.

The Princess Diana Memorial Playground is a magical world of pirate ships and intriguing sculptures as well as tepees and a sensory trail will spark endless creativity and make-believe play for children of all ages,

The Natural History Museum is a whole day’s activity, whilst the Science Museum has an excellent children’s sensory space with many hands-on style activities.

For possible rainy days, Queens Bowling & Ice offers ten-pin bowling alleys and ice rink, together with an American diner style cafe, whilst KidZania in Shepherd’s Bush is an indoor city built just for children, offering a child-sized cityscape with such a breadth of activities that parents and children alike will be able to while hours away.

There is a huge array of family-friendly eateries in the area, from Giraffe to Zizi for a reliable fare, to more experimental options whether this is mezze or Vietnamese street food, and if this doesn’t hit the spot, there is some of London’s best pizza to be had at Farina Pizzeria!
