Overview
With lake views and stylish finish, Serenity Barn is a beautiful place both inside and out for a large group or family of up to twelve guests. Set right in the heart of the Beaumont village in the Silverlake country estate, the barn is perfectly placed with the private beach, indulgent pool and relaxing spa only a short walk away.
The Barn provides a perfect space for socialising, with a L-shaped open plan lounge/dining area with plenty of places to perch and catch-up from the twelve-seater dining table and breakfast bar to the stylish lounge and fantastic private decking. Just slide open the glass doors and take a seat on the comfy sofas, a blissful spot to enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking in the Dorset countryside and glittering Beaumont Lake. Whilst inside, the wood burning stove, flat screen TV and comfortable sofas will give you a cosier option on chillier nights.
Take the stairs to the first floor where a master bedroom extending the full width of the property has a luxurious super king bed and en-suite shower room. The floor to ceiling windows open up to your own private balcony allowing you to take in the starry night sky from comfortable chairs, or just open the doors and enjoy the view from under the covers. On the same floor is a king bedroom with en-suite shower and a double bunk room that sleeps up to four and includes an en-suite bath.
The light and airy barn’s large windows allow you to follow the views all the way up to the top floor of the property where another king bedroom and bathroom await plus a fantastic lounge area, with two sofa-beds, that offer either a bedroom space or a perfect chill-out lounge for guests to enjoy the stunning views from a different perspective.
Serenity Barn has all the ingredients for a memorable holiday nestled in the rural beauty of West Dorset. There is something for everyone at the Silverlake activity hub from tennis courts, bikes, canoes, paddle boards and kayaks. Or those looking to relax and unwind can head for a restorative swim and sauna at the shared pool and spa. Surrounded by the Dorset heathlands, where in the summer wild ponies roam, the barn is within reaching distance of the stunning Jurassic Coastline and its glorious beaches, the perfect spot to enjoy all the county has to offer.

What you should know…
- The wood burning stove is placed in a central point in the L-shaped living area, so young children should be supervised when in use.
- Although safe, the development is centred round a lake so guests with small children should not be left to explore on their own.
- Although the decking is private to the Barn, it is not enclosed. (doesn’t look like it from photos)
- There are no water-based activities from November to February due to low temperatures.

About the surrounding area of Serenity BarnThe Silverlake country estate offers luxury accommodation in the peace and calm of the freshwater lakes and sweeping countryside views that surround it. Rest, revive and recharge at the Hurricane Spa by reclining in the heated infinity pool after enjoying a massage or facial in one of the treatment rooms. Take in the surrounding beauty of the idyllic lakeside views from the spa’s own private beach or blow off steam in state-of the art gym.
The barn’s proximity to the neighbouring lakes means it will be hard to entice yourself away from the water, with kayaks, paddleboards and fishing aplenty. For those who prefer to stay on dry land why not zip wire over the water instead? Or grab a bike and take the family off for beautiful bike ride on the wider estate stopping off for a picnic in a tranquil spot whilst nature spotting the local birds and wildlife.
The beautiful county of Dorset is a popular tourist spot, an area known for its rolling dales, protected heathlands and breath-taking UNESCO-heritage Jurassic coastline. The barn is within reaching distance of fabulous beaches, including the beautiful shingle Ringsted Bay, which at low tide reveals a wide expanse of sand. It is the perfect beach for quiet and calm surrounded by neighbouring farmlands. For those who like to get out and explore the stunning countryside, we recommend a visit to Moreton Forest with a range of tree-filled walks amongst the towering conifers.
A trip to the Smuggler’s Inn, a historic 13th Century pub with unbeatable sea views of the Isle of Portland is an absolute must with an excellent selection of ales to sample and delicious food, the perfect spot for a pitstop after a lovely scenic stroll.
If you’re looking to take in the area’s fascinating history then you won’t be disappointed with the thousand-year-old Corfe Castle, a majestic ruin established by William the Conqueror, just a short drive away. Fans of Thomas Hardy can visit Dorchester’s Dorset Museum which houses the largest Hardy Collection in the world, bequeathed by his wife Florence. Just thirty minutes away, is the picturesque town of Poole, here you can hop on a ferry and visit neighbouring islands or soak up the sunrays on the near-by golden beaches at Sandbanks and Bournemouth. A visit to the colourful Lighthouse Arts Centre offers art exhibitions, theatre and film then why not finish off the day with some locally caught fish and chips on the beach.
Other close-by towns which are well worth a visit include the charming county town of Weymouth with its recognisable Georgian seafront and the lively market towns of Bridport and Lyme Regis. The famous Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch, is just a twenty-minute car journey away and is a must-visit while in the area.

Best Suited For: All AgesWith so many spaces to explore and discover Serenity Barn is a great place for a large family or group to make memories in. The double bunk bedroom offers a perfect sleepover spot for siblings, cousins or friends whilst the top floor’s living area offers older kids a place to relax away from the grown-ups! Wifi throughout and a flat-screen TV in the living area will allow a chance to unwind and relax after an epic day on the lake. Plus, a handy downstairs shower is perfect for washing off sandy feet before making their way to the bedrooms!
The barn possesses a secure position on a gated development with a fun children's playground and tennis courts. There is an 'activity hub' on site where bikes, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards can be borrowed, please note this is subject to availability and so we recommend requesting them at time of booking. Alongside a children’s playground, little adventurers have endless opportunities to explore from the woodland Island with treeline zipwires and refreshing eco-pool, an excellent spot to toast marshmallows around the campfire. Warm up in the on-site yurt with log-burning fire and neighbouring wood-burning stove where chefs will cook up perfect pizzas to munch on (subject to season.). If you are still hungry check out the Hurricane Terrace Bar for delicious food for all the family, and cocktails for the adults!
With safe, picturesque cycle routes and walks, the estate has something for all ages, we recommend taking part in the Miss Dormouse treasure trail, a family-friendly way to explore the reserve.
The Jurassic Coast offers some of the UK’s most striking shores. Dinosaur fans will be in heaven with a day trip to Lyme Regis or Charmouth less than an hour’s drive away. Go on a fossil hunting tour at Charmouth Beach and visit David Attenborough’s sea dragon discovery in the Charmouth Heritage Centre. Closer to home Dorchester, just a short drive away has its own Dinosaur Museum with life-size reconstructions, beware the T-rex! If dinosaurs aren’t your thing, then why not take curious kids to the Tutankhamun Exhibition Centre instead offering a display of exquisite reconstructions of the antechamber and all its treasures within.
A trip to Weymouth wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Sealife centre to take in the sharks, turtles, seals, rays and a thriving Penguin beach with both Humboldt and Fairy penguins.
