Location
About the surrounding area of Looe River HouseLooe River House is located in the seaside town of Looe, just a 10-minute walk from the centre of town. With beautiful views over the river and countryside beyond, the setting of this modern holiday home is very idyllic. There is parking for two cars at the property, as well as the Looe train station, just a short walk down the road, so you can get about with ease.
Looe may be a small seaside town, but it keeps visitors entertained all year round, whilst still working as a fishing port. Evenings can be spent watching the boats return, before dining at a fresh fish restaurant, knowing the produce is as fresh as it can be! The town prides itself on its fresh fish, and be it award winning fish and chips near the river or gourmet menus in smart restaurants overlooking the harbour, we can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed!
Of course, Cornwall is well known for its blue skies, glistening beaches and wildflower-strewn clifftops, and Looe is no different. The South West Coast Path, which runs for hundreds of miles along the West Country southern coastline, passes through the town itself, so you can walk for miles along the rugged, rolling coast, taking in the magnificent scenery that Cornwall has to offer. There are more walks along the two rivers that flow inland, so there is plenty to keep you occupied during your stay.
Looe’s main beach offers idyllic golden sand, sloping gently into the sea for safe swimming. On a rainy day, you can visit the Looe Museum, learning about the smuggling of past, the town’s railway heritage and ghost stories from years gone by!
For a livelier occasion, Looe has been reported to be one of the top places in the UK to celebrate New Year, with fabulous costumes and a brilliant firework display that is a pure joy to watch! In the summer months, Looe Music Festival is also one of the most poplar big outdoor music event in Cornwall, held on the beach and around the town with big names playing in this beautiful setting.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesCornwall has always been a popular choice for family holidays, with its sandy beaches and luscious outdoors tempting visitors from across the country and the world. Looe River House is the perfect base for your family holiday in the West Country, offering something for every age group, so the whole family can enjoy a holiday to remember.
The house itself offers a family friendly kitchen and a social lounge and dining area, perfect for spending time together. The bunk bedroom is brilliant for siblings to share, whilst older children will love the twin and double bedrooms, feeling luxurious in the comfy beds. Please be aware that the property has 22 steps in three sections up to the decking and entrance door, making it a little tricky with a pram and younger children will need to be supervised.
The area is fantastic for families with children. The main beach in Looe, just a short walk from the house, is safe and sandy, with rockpools beside it, providing hours of free fun! On the quayside, you can introduce them to crabbing and the Looe Marine Conservation Group even runs regular rockpool rambles for kids of all ages!
For a fun day out, we would recommend a visit to Cornish World, located on the outskirts of St Austell. There you will find Kidzworld for an afternoon of endless fun and games; they have slides, trampolines, roller skating, mini golf, games zone and so much more. There is even an Ofsted-approved nursery, preschool and holiday club at The Kids' Academy.
