With striking, dazzling white architecture and interiors, mesmerising views from its elevated position near Viros village, luxurious comfort, numerous treats and a wonderfully imaginative design, Villa Zoe is a fantastic contemporary property for eight guests. It is ideal for families or groups of friends who are looking for the wow factor and something a little different. Enjoying a serene, tranquil spot, the villa is only 6km from the lively Corfu Town and is within very easy reach of captivating beaches.

The ancient village of Viros is nestled in the centre of the island surrounded by lush greenery. Viros dates back to 1420 and has spread out from its original hill top location. Now there are scattered settlements including Kastania, Bastouni, Soulaiika and Agios Georgios. It is known for its cultural club, its church and the house of the great Corfiot painter, Gialinas. As well as evening jaunts into Corfu Town, guests enjoy visits to the Achilion Palace, originally built as a summer retreat for the Empress of Austria and to the buzzy tourist resort of Benitses. Golfers can play at Ermones, 15km from the villa. Benitses is an old fishing village which sits 12km south of Corfu Town. It boasts a bustling, colourful harbour, cobbled alleyways, Roman baths, a delightly pebble and shingle beach, a vast array of charming restaurants and bars and a fascinating shell museum.

In its wonderful simplicity, Villa Zoe is incredibly striking. With jaw-dropping design, brilliant use of glass so that almost every space in the villa enjoys a fabulous view, swanky furnishings and top-of-the-range technology and fittings, guests can totally relax and feel at peace. The villa comes with underfloor heating for cooler months, lots of entertainment including televisions with Dolby surround sound, console game systems, security systems and the very best fittings. It sits is a stunning 4765 square metre plot with heavenly spots where you can dine alfresco, enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and relax on superb, contemporary outdoor furniture. There is a games room, billiards and a gym. The villa’s four bedrooms enjoy minimalist styling and the crispest of cottons where you can dive deep into slumber. Villa Zoe has been designed to create a unique, serene experience in utter privacy. It is little wonder that it has been written about in The Times, being described as ‘The James Bond House’ by small children. For sure with its striking cantilevered balcony, shallow rooftop pool, exquisite swanky handpicked furnishings and its ultra cool vibe, it is perfectly understandable.

All in white, the open plan living space is amazing. The kitchen is as minimalist as they come and even the most discerning of chefs will appreciate its brilliance and top notch appliances. Guests can keep the chefs company perched on trendy white stools with a glass of delicious local white wine from the wine fridge. The dining table, again all in white, is equally eye-catching with futuristic chairs. Walls of glass doors open fully to bring the outside in and drown these magical spaces in natural light. A marvellous industrial style staircase leads upstairs and on the other side of the staircase you can chill in a clear perspex hanging egg chair in front of the modern fireplace. The white walls are not broken by art yet there are several giant statement pieces that rest on the floor against the walls. The effect is so clever! You will discover trend-setting furnishings, cable television with Dolby sound and a billiards table on the ground floor as well as one of the villa’s four bedrooms. This is a heavenly haven, simple, smart and swanky with use of an immaculate minimalist shower room.

Upstairs, you will discover three stunning bedrooms, one with a sumptous kingsize bed, dressing area and an en-suite bathroom and the other two with twin beds. They share a sleek, gorgeous jack and jill bathroom. As you might imagine, the bathrooms are super cool with walk-in showers, ambient lighting and with no expense spared.

The outside space is dreamy with the stunning pool making a huge statement. With luxury loungers sitting on a pool deck over the water, the cantilevered balcony above, living spaces enjoying giant picture windows and enormous glass doors, the design is wondrous. A stunning shaded alfresco lounge area sits the other side of the pool and there is yet more swanky furniture enjoying a space under an ancient olive tree. You can dine alfresco with a view and cook in a delightful covered barbecue area. There is a new design feature with a shallow roof pool. It is incredible! Without a doubt, you will leave Villa Zoe with magical holiday memories.

Villa Zoe enjoys a dreamy location close to Viros, an ancient inland village in central Corfu. Surrounded by hills sprinkled with verdant greenery, the location is magical and very quiet. In recent years, Viros has become popular with the music scene with famous artists performing in the village. The villa is located on a small private hillside road so guests enjoy total privacy.

Villa Zoe is only 4km from Corfu airport so you will be chilling in the villa in no time. Corfu Town is 6km from the villa, a very easy journey to enjoy its many wonderful charms. There are many beaches to enjoy easily from Villa Zoe including Perama, Benitses, Palaiokastritsa, Glyfada, Canal d’Amour, Agios Gergios Pagon, Halikounas, Issos, Kerasia, Barbati and Agios Gordios.

Villa Zoe is close to the mountainous area of Gastouri, also known as Acheillo. The Achillion Palace is wrapped in acres of lush greenery and parkland. The famous summer palace of Empress Sisi of Austria draws intrigue due to its historical and cultural significance. Built in 1898 by an Italian architect with inspiration from Greek mythology, it boasts iconic sculptures of Zeus, Hera and Achilles himself which were created by a German sculptor for the beloved Empress of Austria. The palace is surrounded by dazzling gardens and has incredible views of the Ionian Sea.

Benitses is an attractive, small village on the east coast of Corfu, roughly 12km south of Corfu Town. At the northern end of the village you will discover a pretty pebble and shingle beach with a marina at the far end. There are excellent opportunities for watersports. The delightful marina is home to close to two hundred boats and yachts. It is a very pretty sight. Visitors enjoy a good range of shops, restaurants and bars. Outside of Benitses is a go-kart track and north of the village is the Shell Museum. It is a private owner’s collection from the past twenty years.

Corfu Town or Kerkyra as it is otherwise known, is one of the most beautiful, graceful and elegant towns in Greece. Though seventh in size, it is one of the most populated in the whole of the Ionian Islands. The town’s stunning architecture has many influences including Sicilian, Venetian, French and English. Corfu Town is brimming with elegant mansions, magnificent palaces, beautiful squares, no fewer than thirty nine churches and majestic fortresses. You should not miss The Liston and the Church of Saint Spiridon. The entire Old Town is declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, a tightly-packed warren of winding lanes bursting with lively bars, unique shops and fine restaurants. You will also see timeless alleys with the day’s washing stretching from balcony to balcony. The architecture is painted in sunny ochre and sienna shades. Just off Spianada Square is the Old Fortress on the site of an acropolis. From here, there are breathtaking views. Corfu Town is the birthplace of the late Duke of Edinburgh. He was born at the fabulous Mon Repos Palace. Next to the palace gardens you will find the calm waters of the Mon Repos Beach and to the north, you will find Faliraki Beach. There are also some interesting museums including the Byzantine Museum of Corfu which is housed in a 15th century church. Others are the Museum of Ceramic Art, the D Solomos Museum and the Asian Art Museum.

Corfu is one of the most beautiful, lush green islands of Greece. With countless beaches, a few hundred villages, nearly a thousand churches, stunning scenery stretching from the crystal clear dazzling sea to the mountains, valleys, lagoons, waterfalls, forests and numerous caves, it is a dream destination. The fauna and flora is world famous due to the Durrell family and especially since the TV series. Together with fantastic cuisine, excellent shopping and an historic main town brimming with Venetian architecture and charm, it has something for everyone.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Teens

Villa Zoe is a beautiful villa that suits families perfectly. You should keep an eye on small children though with the staircase, balcony, roof pool and main pool. There is a billiards table which is always popular and the gardens are lovely.

Family entertainment on Corfu is endless. There are many beaches to choose from, from hidden, quiet coves to magnificent, highly organised stretches of sand with a huge array of watersports. Some of the best East oast beaches besides Barbati are Agios Ioannis Peristeron, Perama, Dassia, Ipsos, Agni, Kouloura and Kalami. Kalami is the village where Lawrence Durrell lived in the 1930’s. It is now a small resort with several tavernas including the White House, where the Durrells lived. On the North coast, Kassiopi, Acharavi and Roda are very popular.

In Corfu Town, children enjoy climbing the walls of the Old Fortress, the Venetian fort built in the 15th century and the New Fortress. The fortresses boast fantastic views of the turquoise waters. Also in Corfu Town, you can take a trip in Kalypso Star, the glass-bottomed boat that leaves the harbour to explore the Ionian Sea’s fascinating marine life. A ten minute boat trip from Corfu Town takes you to the tiny island of Vidos where you can enjoy feeding the rabbits, seeing the peacocks, swimming and having lunch at the charming taverna.
Benitses is a lovely, friendly resort with lots of facilities and fabulous restaurants. The beach is pebbly and shingle with a good selection of watersports and waterside tavernas.

Children love Aqualand, Corfu’s water park. It is just the place for a thrilling day out and offers a wonderful combination of fun, relaxation and adrenaline. The park caters for all ages and boasts a 350 metre long lazy river, a wave pool, an interactive pool with a rope course and jacuzzi, kayaking, family rafting and extreme slides such as the Double Twister, Catapult, the 12 metre high Kamikaze slides and the Hurricane Twist. In total there are 51 attractions to enjoy. For the very young ones there is a baby pool, a pirate area and the kids fantasy island. You can buy a half day pass, a full day pass, a two day pass or a weekly one.

For a completely different, non-water based day you can head to the majestic Mount Pantokrator. It is the highest peak in Corfu and dominates the island’s northeast region. It boasts the most amazing views of the whole of Corfu Island. On a clear day you can even see Albania and Italy even though Italy is 130km away! You can drive or hike to the mountain top, stopping at traditional Greek villages on the way. The zigzagging mountain road starts halfway between Ipsos and Barbati Beach passing through Spartilas and Strinilas, one of the island’s highest villages. You can enjoy delicious local moscato wine from one of the village’s taverns. If you want to hike to the top you can start at the 14th century village of Old Perithia. It is a three hour round trip through thick forests, olive groves and rocky terrain. At the top you can visit the 17th century monastery.

An ultra-modern kitchen and dining room were white as tooth enamel; a giant TV was never once watched; a sculptural staircase of burnished iron and glass was suspended from heavy gauge steel cables, leading to cool en-suite bedrooms. It was all so lovely it was hard to know what to do first. On the Thursday we had dinner cooked for us at the villa by our own chef. His name was Sandro and he arrived with food enough for a Greek phalanx, and all we had to do was swan around and watch the sunset.
