What Oliver loves…
- There are 2 Unesco World Heritage Sights (Val D'Orcia and Bagno Vignoni), both in view from the villa and within a few miles drive.
- Every bathroom in the villa has a luxurious new shower and a touch of the past.
- The 360 degree views across Tuscany are entirely unhindered and breath-taking. A painters paradise.
What you should know…
- The villa is split into 3 adjoining apartments with 3 kitchens and 3 living rooms. However, this is a private rental that you rent exclusively.
- The road to the villa is a long, bumpy, country track. The villa is on a heritage site and planning permission is tough to secure even for roads.
Hidden at the end of a long drive through never ending fields of wheat, guests will find this enchanting farmhouse surrounded by a typical Mediterranean garden with rosemary, lavender, sage and flowers in every season.
The colours of the countryside surrounding Pienza Villa inspire the interior decoration of all the apartments: yellow, green and blue colours with antique furniture and shabby-chic style, making each room unique and cosy.
The living area in each apartment is spacious and elegant. It comprises a living room with fireplace, a dining room and the shabby-chic kitchen. An intimate and refined atmosphere characterises the night area of the four different dwellings. In addition to the double room with view over the garden and the Val d'Orcia, an extra bed for children (on request) and a sofa bed for two add to the comfort of this Tuscan holiday home. There is satellite TV in the sitting room of each cottage.
It is very easy to hide away here for a week or so, enjoying the heat of the scorching sun, listening to the birdsong, or marveling at the amazing sunset colours. Guests leave pollution and noise behind in exchange for wild walks and novel reading. Time really does slow right down.
Built in the 19th century, Pienza Villa has all the charm of an old stone farmhouse with its cosy fireplaces, but has none of the downsides. It has been tastefully preserved and decorated, making the apartments cosy inside and gorgeous outside.
Step into the open plan kitchen and the sitting/dining room and to find a basket of fresh fruit. This big room is bright and airy, with large French windows looking straight out onto the garden and surrounding hills. A sofa bed in front of the fireplace, antiques and reinvented furniture, and original wood beams complete this room.
The stunning kitchen is fully equipped and tastefully decorated with handpainted tiles, distressed door units, a stone sink and sweet textiles all over.
A large romantic bedroom has great views from the windows and provides every reason to lie in bed and laze away a few hours in the morning. There is a good sized bathroom with towels included.
From the pretty garden, guests can walk straight to the swimming pool, and the barbecue area is all equipped and ready for family parties.
Pienza Villa is in one of the best locations for a holiday in Siena for kids and family to explore the Tuscan countryside.
